Don't know for sure but it looks like a door lock button.

I pulled on the door handles when the car was in Houston Auto Show. It feels like aluminum material, not plastic. You pull it with a gentle force. The window switchs / mirror adj. switches are on the armrest by the door.

I am not sure what the button by the door handle is, I didn't ask. I am guessing it's door lock button.

Err.. no.

The CPU programmed in the door will read your mind... and when it senses that you are feeling horny, the door open...

i hope they're in the middle. i like that so much better than the "clutter" on the door itself. my friends slk230 has 'em and now i'm used to it.

apexi- a lot of things changed from the show car to the production - lots of little things. so this MAY be something else that changed. that's great that you say it's on the door - it's not that i don't believe you or was trying to offend you. i'm just saying that it would be nice (not contradicting you saying that it IS in the middle) to have them in the middle. that's all.

The car I saw at the Houston Auto Show had the windows and mirror adj. buttons on the door armrest. I don't know for sure if it's called armrest, but it is on the door. Just like this pic:
