Personally, I don't see the big deal everyone is making of the "chartered member" status...

People bragging that they are a lower number than another person, etc...

I'm here for the car. Not a special member status on a forum. If a formal "club" gets organized, I will be a big part of it... and if it never happens, I'll start a club locally myself.

Why would you want a special forum for "chartered members" only? I do not understand...

BullishZ,

No flame planned here. I have no ax to grind. In response to you're question, the purpose of charter membership is to form a group of people to direct the development of the forum, and any future club, in a democratic manner. Those who are intrested may contribute their opinions, time, effort, and money to the cause. Participation is optional. It is simply a choice one makes as to their level of involvement. Obviously, there must be a limit to any governing,or decision making body, hence a limit of 50 charter members. Personally, while I will not be bragging about my involvement, I am both excited and proud to be involved. For what it is worth, I consider you a regular here because of you're level of participation, not you're membership status.I hope this serves as a point of clarification.

Looking forward to a great time in my Z.....

Good point. It is a "choice" as you say... and it's good in the purposes you point out.

It's also good that you guys will sorta "lead" this forum... but I think more often than not, the "charter" members are only in it for the exclusivity.

I don't see the point in that.

Oh well... to each their own. If being a charter member floats your boat, I won't argue with that.

Default I was glad to contribute...

Not only to help J out with the site, but also to ensure we wouldn't fall victim to Pop Up Ads!!
PS I know you wouldn't do that to us anyway amigo..

HaHaHa...I like that..."chartered flame". Seriously though, Bullish, you got it all wrong...there's no attitude involved with the charter members...I'm one because i donated money to help out with the site, I didn't know that would be the result. You are as much a part of this site as anyone. Believe me, there's nothing going on in the charter section anyway. Two threads...that's it. Because this is where everyone hangs out. This is the site. I think Jay has done a very smart thing...he saw what the site was becoming (a great, relatively flame-free place to talk about things Z) and he's forming a committee of people who care about the site to keep it that way. That's all. The club will be for everyone. So far the only responsibility of the charter members is to make sure (as a group) that this site stays as great as it is. Jay is still the man, he's just humble enough to want a second opinion from the people who truly want help make this place all it can be.

Cool, sounds good. Wow... I am surprised no flaming like on Zcar.... I know the group here is ALOT more mature, but I was seriously expecting someone to say something rude or inappropriate.

GJ Guys!

Sorry for mistaking.

Shell,

That was just an expression regarding Jay's status as webmaster (i.e. propeller-head ) We all know he's a big wuss.
