Default 2003 350z or a 1996 BMW M3??

Hi.. as of now I am in a situation where I can get either of these cars..

the m3 is a 96, with 74,000 miles, 2 owners, very good condition, all stock and the 350z is a touring, all stock, 57k miles...

which is the better car?? I used to own a 300zx TT and enjoyed that car...and I have always liked the feel of the 350z, but between the two, and the fact that i really have to decide soon makes me uncertain...

Nothing spells reliabilty like a mid 90's used (with high miles) BMW M3. If you're looking to pose, girls don't like old BMW's.

350z hands down, a 1996 m3 is history... especially because its reaching 80 k miles. M3 is known for issues so I wouldn't recommend buying one unless its under 30 k miles at most*

Well, are you looking for reliability, power, speed and looks or are you looking for four seats and a forum where people dont phrase all of their answers in the form of a question?

350z all the way. My close friend has a 97 m3, he will be joining the 350z bandwagon this year. The m3 was nice back in the day, but now , it's not that great. It's not a bad car, it just gets outperformed easily. My friend is having repair problems popping up all the time..like brake sensors, random sensors, axles, etc. He loves my Z though.

a 96 M3? LMAO! get the Z, the only 96 cars that should ever be considered are rx-7's, nsx's, supras and vettes.

If you go the BMW, you're only getting it for the badge, that's the only advantage the M3 has.

If you get the M3 you'll end up forking out big time for spare parts too, it's too outdated.

i do realize that the 350z will be more reliable, but is the m3 really that bad of a car comapred to the 350..? i mean they are pretty much nearly as fast as one another... but that isn't that much of a priority for me, i think the Z would be pretty unpractical...hmmm

it's not a bad of a car at all. It's much smoother than my z stock. It has leather, nice susension, quiet interior, good brakes.

the bads : the engine doesn't sound good at all, a lot of complicated things about the engine and sensors, single stage paint, parts are expensive, sqaure body

It's quick, you are right, almost as fast a the z. I still put a couple lengths on my friend but he beats me out of the hole pretty well. I would just rather get the e46 because it's a huge difference with the e36.

it's not far off in price. You can get a used e46 for 20-26k in my area. And that's not even with high mileage.
