Default break-in

hey guys i know the manual says to break-in the engine over 1200 miles. but i wanna know what u guys think? how inportant is engin break-in and is 1200 miles enough or too much? i also heard that it is good to change the oil after the first 1000 miles. is that really benefitical? thanks for any input

IMO it is always better to follow manufacturers recommendation, so "yes" abide by the 1200 miles.

After 1200 miles, I would not immediately go to redline on every gear & try to get to 150 MPH. I slowly start pushing the car harder as time/miles pass. Probably a conservative approach but my cars last a long time with minimal service.
