How is this possible? I know I armed my car before I went in the house last night. But someone broke into it this morning. No sign of forced entry or anything. They just took my tomtom and my tire pressure repair kit. The cops apprehended the two guys hopefully the finger prints shows up theirs. When the cops went to their apartment they found tons of stolen stuff but no tomtom and tire pressure repair kit. Whats the likely of me getting my stuff if they dont happen to find it? Should I even bother calling USAA? I doubt they will pay for it.

stock alarm or aftermarket?

Find out where their apartment is somehow, and if they get arrested, wait for them to get out on bail and go take care of them yourself. Sometimes our justice system doesn't do us enough justice. Take it upon yourself.
i wouldnt call insurance on little stuff tho, USAA is the gay and just might increase your rates.
someone backed up into me once and the other dudes insurance paid to fix my car and USAA still raised my rates. f@gs....

I would feel violated if my Z was broken into..but I think you can be happy there was no damage....at least the thief in some way or another "respected" the car to a degree...right?
thats cool that they caught them. I would invest in a aftermarket alarm. I have the clifford and love it. It has the remote so when the alarm goes off, even if its a few 100 yards away, it will beep, so just keep it near you when your inside. Someone hit my car and it went off, so I went outside to see why and they were trying to get away, luckily I saw them in time, so it can help let you know about door dings and other stuff like that. For about ~300 it can really pay off.
Using a slim jim system it is easy to break in to any given car, whether it has an alarm or not.
I would invest heavily into an aftermarket alarm. These theives know now you leave 'bait' in the car, and may return.
You may even save on your insurance, at least I do in my province. Not sure how it works in the US.

have you recently taken your car in for service or to have mods put on. Did you leave them your real home address (big no no)?
You'd be amazed how many people buy rims and what do you know a few weeks later they are stolen (the shop copied your key and alarm code when you left the car with them).
Don't EVER give a shop your real home address, there is no need for them to have that information, just make something up.
