Hopefully this will cover the damages.
Did they tell you HOW they are going to do it then? I remember when I got my quote on the hail damage on my Ford then saw the insurance company they called my shop back and told them that they were not going to use the "old fashioned" methods of drilling and pulling dents and to use the paintless dent removal becuase it would be several hundred dollars less. I'm glad they stepped in becuase I was young and did not even think about any of that or know better. I would have been pi$$ed if I would have found out they pulled the dents - I could probably figure out how to do that then take it somewhere to have it painted and there would have been body filler and all that crap. Yeah in those cases the car is really not the same (at least it can't be in your mind even if it looks new). But other modern methods are great and it will be the same or like I said before better in a way if they can get some good paint on there. Hope everything works out well for 'ya
Usually, by the time you get a check that means that you have a shop picked out and the insurance has talked to them and they both agree on everything, etc. Probably will cover it unless they both missed some damage.
Did your body shop and insurance catch the 3 stage paint that's on your car? That costs more than a normal paint job. I got run off the road last year by a semi and scraped paint off my rear quarter panel and it seems like the extra for the 3 stage paint was $100 on a $900 repair (fix, paint, and blend one quarter panel). Even if insurance is paying I'd want an itemized estimate before they could have my car to work on.

That is a surprise. I would have bet my sister that the car was totalled.

I would like to see some progress photos during the repair. Seeing the repair technique will be interesting.

I went through this same thing with a storm that hit Daytona Beach while I was in college. I left the car with Nissan for 2 months and they removed every dent (100s) with paintless dent removal. Insurance picked up the tab. Car came out looking like new. Still was a very painful sight to see.

Allright guys,

I think I am going to do a c/f hood, roof overlay, a pillars, and hatch. All these items were going to have to be replaced and I like this options.

Does anyone have any recomidations on bumpers or fenders? I am going to have to replace these as well and also would like to see if any company prepaints before shipping.

Well I would not have anything prepainted because they are going to need to match your paint and a car that old most likely has at least a little fading.

I guess I'll play armchair quarterback so what I do is that even if there is the smallest hint of hail coming (and it's coming with the advent of summer), I jump in the Z and make for the nearest parking garage. Sure, it may never come but better safe than sorry.

I didn't think hail could cause damage like that. I don't think I've ever even been in or seen a hail storm in person.
