Default Stealerships SUCK....do you agree ? (rant)

So I told the dealership NOT to put a front bracket on my car...I bought it new in Dec of 06.

So I go to pick it up and ... yup you guessed it they did...came out w/the Bullsh*t that its LAW..I almost didnt take delivery.....

So I get over it and I know I am going to buy a new front kit eventually...no biggie...I however have spent so much money on rims, bolt ons, etc...that for this summer I have gotten my new gears and an lsd and thats all for now..

So no body kit...yet...So I have a black nismo plate on my front that flows well for what it is but I still dont like it...

I say ok...Im gonna try the bumperplugs...lets c how they work out..so much cleaner w/no front bracket IMO....

So I go to today to take off the bracket...and I see the holes for the bumper plugs...but..

The STUPID RETARDED *** of a sales person used really long screws for the plate and yup...you guess it, left more damage on the bumper that the bracket hides....Well it wont hide it if I take it off...

So now I have to put the bracket back on ...and live with it...

THIS SUX!!!!! END of RANT...

Please chime in with your SHI&&Y stealership stories !!!!

You bought a new Z in Dec of 06 an yer ranting about it 14 months after the fact?

When I bought mine here in CA I told them a million times I did not want the front plate drilled. All they made me do was sign a waiver. They say it's the law you have to have a front plate mount when you dirve it off their lot.

That's BS because when you drive it off their lot you won't get your plates for weeks, so techically there is no need to drive it off the lot drilled. Only reason they whine about wanting to drill is so they can slap their free advertsing BS on your car front and rear and make your Z a billboard for their dealership.

you should of held out and got a discount for the dealerships lack of making you 100% satisfied, at least some free oil changes or details.

i look at mess ups as opportunity's!!

yeah, just because it's the law, doesn't mean they have to do it.
laws are dumb and they shouldn't be followed

two things i am really **** about when i take delivery of a car.

number one is that there is NO dealerhsip advertising at all. If they have a problem with it or if they do put any type of advertising on my car, i wont take the car. either they give me a discount for advertising for them, or they take there **** off my car.

number two the front plate mount. in texas it is the law too, but ive never had a dealer give me a hassle about it. i tell them they can put the mount in the car when i drive it off, but not to drill any holes. If you had been that concerned about it, you should not have taken delivery.

Dont you get it, it's YOUR CAR! you payed for it! Either get it the way you want, or dont get it at all. it's as simple as that. You said you almost didnt take delivery of it. Then why did you?

I garauntee you if you had said, "Oh you decided to put the front bracket on there for the license plate. Too bad, you just lost your sale. Tell your manager that I will be filing a claim with Nissan North America about your level of customer service" they would have found a way to make it right. By you taking delivery, you reinforce the behavior

The front plate bracket was never even mentioned when I purchased my car, granted, it was used. No holes were ever drilled though, so I've just left it that way.

Technically, the law states that you must "display two licenses plates at the front and back of the vehicle". It doesn't define the front of the vehicle as the front fender or limit what the front of the vehicle is considered... so, couldn't you just toss one up on your dashboard should the need ever arise? I don't know that much about law, but wouldn't that be within the rules of the section of law posted above? If so, you could throw that in their face next time they say it's the law.

yes i know you can do that in texas.

you can put a plate on ur dash and it can pass as the front of the vehicle.

but that shouldnt be an issue for OP since he wouldnt have regular plates anyways, he would have temporary paper plates for the first 30 days of ownership anyways. so the dealership REALLY has no room to invoke the "law"

Agreed. Last I checked they weren't giving tickets and enforcing the law plus the whole paper plates thing.

I completly agree with you that dealers suck. I love my car but I found that Nissan has the worst service of any dealership by far. They are always looking for a way to screw you, and just have bad customer relations.

But about the front bracket, I told them not to put it on my car either, and they accepted (It is the law in MA). However my dad told me I had to get it put on, so I did. When I finally bought the car on of my friends was saything that it sucks to have it but for any reason you had one beer to many or some dumb stuff like that and got pulled over for something stupid for not having a front plate your screwed. The Z is a target as is, especially up north where there are far less than down south I would imagine.

So yes it sucks having the plate on, and sucks even more that your dealership is full of morons, but I think this is an optomistic way of looking at it.

My dealership is excellent. They just put the brackets for the license plate in the compartment behind the passenger seat. They gave me, for free, the front chin spoiler found on the Track model. Their prices are reasonable. Finally, they were straight up on everything.

I didnt touch it till now..thats why I noticed this late...

I unfortunately took delivery because it was new....sexy...and I wanted it...chalk one up for lust...I paid the price for that.

I think most dealerships try to screw you..with my STI it was the same way..they would look for any reason NOT to warranty your claim...

the front plate in the states that require them is the law only for inspection Purposes. .they say its for the cops but if the cops behind you i think he sees your plate!!
personally I bought my Z used. .and ended up getting a new Front bumper at the dealer and just painted it. .No front plate YAY!!!. . .
I did take my car to the dealer for the alignment Recall. .and i had to take it twice due to the fact the 1st 10 hours was to verify that my car had the Recall issue. .and the next day i took it the other 10 hours was to install 2 front tires and align the car. .which i told them that i did not need because at my shop i have an alignment machine. .I just wanted the free damn tires. .b4 i went to pick up the car the Service guy calls me telling me at 20K i needed a full tune and flush n yadda yadda. ..After telling him who i was he chuckled and i went to get my car. .(im not whining it's just funny)
I can only Imagine how many DUmb people the Stealership cons into Selling Jobs!!!!

But if i was you. .at that exact moment i saw the car with the plate bracket.. i would of stopped payment turned around and said. .no bracket if they gave me LIP. .i would of gotten in my car that i came with and drove off. . If Im paying for something BEST be done FU&&ING right. .or I aint Paying for SH&T!!!!
