read more. your friend is wrong. There is no more "Skyline GTR" there is now the "Skyline" and the "GTR". The Skyline is nothing more than a G35Coupe with different badging. The GTR is a concept vehicle that is *most likely* hitting stateside and could take up till 2005 (at the earliest) - 2008 (at the latest) to get here.

Well if you are going to talk about chassis then they all use the same chassis, the FM chassis. Chassis = platform right?

FX35, FX45, 350Z, Fairlady Z, G35 Coupe, G35, Skyline, Skyline Coupe, Stagea, all use the same platform, the FM (front-midship) platform.

Like redcomet said, there is no such thing as a skyline GTR anymore, the skyline and the GTR are two different cars now.

You are sort of correct. The GT-R concept *IS* real. However, it is no longer going to be the "Skyline GT-R". It is just going to be the Nissan GT-R (which is what these folks are trying to tell you). Read this:

If you take a look at JGTC, every R34 GTR that races in the GT500 class got rid of hte rb26dett and swapped in a vq30dett....just somethin to think about.

Unfortunately I dont get to watch it, I have to follow it on their website, JGTC.net...you should check out hte site, it tells you all the cars that are entered, and what motors they run....for instance, all the supras took out the 2JZ-GTE motor and swapped in the 3SGTE (MR2 motor)

There is very very little info on what the GT-R Concept vehicle is going to have. I doubt that it will share the same chassis as the G35. Its probably going to be modified a little bit. It will still be based off the altima platform. Its almost definitely not going to have the RB26DETT. This is due to emissions. I am guessing its going to be a VQ motor, probably twin turboe'd but thats just a guess. It is most likely not going to be the same engine in the Z/G35 but, still in the VQ series.
