2005 Yellow Anniversary or 2007 Base?
Looking to purchase one finally and found an emaculate Yellow 2005... sooo nice. and also roughly in the same ball park a used 2007 Base model, black... both 6 speeds... what you think you guys would prefer. I plan on some NA mods and a whole list of suspension.
man get the 07 base, for one thing the 07 have the HR engine setup with more horsepower, better if u plan on light mods. Also I used to have an 05 wit the rev-up engine, n well I traded it in for an 07, n personally I don't regret it one bit!! The 07 is definently better, coming from someone who's owned both model yrs.

My Base doesn't have an LSD (stock or aftermarket) and is completely fine for everyday driving. Driving through the rain, snow, a little ice, etc. No problems.

The anniv edition had more hp and other differences to the rest of the 05 lineup. One tip to the OP, choose wisely. The 05 anniv is going to have alot of things that the 07 base wont, including a more performance geared setup.

First off, don't confuse "needs" with "wants". Without knowing exactly what the OP plans on doing, it's hard to say. But a lot of base owners regret not getting LSD, HID, cruise control, TCS/VDC, etc.
Plus, with the AE you're getting the special edition car with limited availability color.

i have to agree with dave here i wouldnt buy a base touring or GT for me
. Not everybody needs a LSD but i dont understand why they would even offer a model on a sportscar without one stupid if you ask me.

these are the 2 models that have fit into my budget, as I'd be trading my Xtera, and are right around the same price, I love the AE as its Yellow, etc... but I like the idea of the HR 2007. What is the big performance in the AE model? any one have personal experiance? I'd be interested, I know the have the Rev Ups and 7K redline ... anything other than that?

As Dave pointed out, the Base model doesn't come a few things. No cruise control, which some people I guess are adamant about having. No traction control/vehicle dynamic control. I don't have that and haven't had issues driving in snow, ice, or heavy rain. A few people here don't like VDC as it gets in the way some times (so I've heard). etc
