I think the problem that Cheap is experiencing is more common than thought. According to my dealer, every dealer had a set allocation. My dealer sold his allocation by March. All orders after that were still labeled as "pre-order." Given the popularity of the pre-orders, I'll bet alot of dealers sold their inital allocation earlier than the official June 17 deadline and kept on selling "pre-orders".

The dealers with the high mark-ups would probably sell less and subsequently, their customers on average would receive their cars earlier, even those with a late pre-order.

normal procedure

The dealership I went to stated that I had to put $1000 down (refundable) and that this is to preorder the car. I was 35th on the list and that between Dec and Feb they would get that allotment ordered and that I would receive the car in April or May.

TO GET A HOT SELLING CAR YOU HAVE TO WAIT.

Oh and if I don't like it when it comes in--ya right-- I can get my money back and they sell it at a premium.

Yo rep15.....I had one on order at Yonker in Renton and bought mine at Auburn.

Not to mention that after I signed all the paperwork they said they kept the guys deposit of $5000 and they still marked the car up.

Pretty sad.......

Hehe....yeah that might be fun as I still have yet to see another 350z on the road other than mine. Considering we may not see the sun for another 6 months in Seattle it would be nice to let people see them when they are nice and shinny!

I was thinking about doing the drive to St. Helens this weekend to put some miles on it. We'll see how the weather turns out. I'll take some pics if I do.
