The STi is a 4 door sedan...ummm...burn?...lol

I drive a sports car, k, thanks, bye.

But I respect the STi, just as I expect respect in the same token, you're friend is a douche bag, you should of falcon punched him in his vagina...and yes you read that right.

I usually only have people that own domestics comment on my Z like that. Anyways I would just agree sarcastically w/ him and be on my way. I really respect anybody that is true enthusiast w/ their car. Plus every car has there pros/cons.

I don't get it. I saw the new evo starts at $13,900 and goes all the way up to $37,000+. It woud be nice to have an AWD turbo car but make it look like a $40K car and not a economy car that has been riced out.

They remind me of a cheap looking toy, box like, and just all around ugly and funny looking.

edit* thats not to take away from its performance. But yeah, it looks cheap for kind of coin.

I was considering both the STi and the Z... Couldn't find a new STi anywhere in town to test drive... so the decision was effectively made for me. Simple as that.

While lining up on the grid in autocross, it never fails that girls will always ask me for a ride in my Z. I have never, ever seen a girl ask an STi driver if they want to ride in their fugly boxed car. And it's even sweeter when I usually run faster times than an STi/WRX.

I had a WRX before getting the Z. It wasn't a STi but it never occurred to me that the STi was worth the high prices - especially living in Colorado where those things practically go up in value once you drive them off the lot!

I can't say I regretted getting the rex but I sure didn't shed a tear when I traded it in for the Z. In fact, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face for the rest of the week afterwards!

For what's it's worth I get thumbs up from almost every STi I go by but haven't had one Z wave back... oh well!

Oh yeah... snow tires rock!

I would have asked him if he bought the STi because it's supposedly fast although it looks like ****?

STI = a fast car for people who don't car what their car looks like.
Z = a fast car for people who do car what thier car looks like.

stis arnt the best looking cars, but I would call them ugly, all they need is to be lowered and a nice set of wheels. In stock form a 350z looks like crap to me as well, unless its an 06+ or a track model. All the other wheels suck. Im glad Im selling my sti to get another z, theres nothing in its price range like a 350z.

I owned an 05' sti. The only thing I missed was the launch. The feel of driving the car is not the same, its not sporty to drive daily. Its basically like an everyday sedan if your not spirited driving.

As far as power goes your dealing with a 2.5L 4cyl already boosting, and their blocks don't have tremendous room for improvement (not even as much as the 2.0)... The potential of the Z excites me with all of its untapped power.

when i was in sf looking for apartments, i was rolling around with my friend who has a sti....first day we took the sti, looked around, no comments about the car....2nd day looking, we took my 07 z...every place we went, and i pulled up to, they always had a comment like "wow, that's a nice looking car"...or "man, wish i could get a ride in there"....happened about 6-7 times....after that, my friend told me he made the wrong decision, haha

i dont consider a sedan a sports car. the sti looks like a riced out civic. I have a friend with a 07' STI, he always, and i mean always compliments my car on how nice it sounds, looks and performs. the sad thing is hes owned 4 STI's and before that a 300zx. He almost bought a Z last year before he traded up for the new subie...so after he bought it i went over to his house to see it, and he drove my Z, the only thing that came out of his mouth was..damn, maybe i should have bought a Z. he almost returned his subie and bought one. i think when his lease expires hes going to buy either the new Z, or if he can afford it the new GT-R.

ill always be a fan of the STI's power, but i dont think i would ever consider buying one over a Z.

i like the sti
but i love the z
im hard on a car and i dont think the sti tranny could take me-i hate the way awd drive feels, and the sti has more body roll then the z,but the sti sucks for dd.i have the hochkis suspension and the road feel is comfortable-the sti bounces everywhere, not saying its a bad thing-but jeez,i drive hwy a lot and the z is wayyy smoother even with the suspension-plus i dont like the 14mpg in the sti.If i had loads of money it would be my backup car-

He goes on to say that I certainly didn't buy it because it's the fastest sportcar in its price range, nor the best handling sports car in this price range, and it's not the most practical in it's range. Why did I buy the Nissan because it was a Nissan? He stated man I don't get it. If I wanted a Porsche I wouldn't buy a look a like, he goes on to say.

My comment was because it was a Z-car, no one has to ask if its a Sports car by looking, no one has to ask what it is, its either a Z car or a Porsche.
Its fast enough and handles well enough that it puts a smile on my face while standing inside or outside it.

The STi I've driven are impressive while driving but a stop sign they look like a kid that stole his dad credit car and bought 3rd party parts to built it.

And standing outside it almost make you wanta cry or laugh. I know this is objective viewing. I have nothing but praise for the STi drive train and performance but its hard to look at and say its a Sports car more a mud racer/rally car brought to the street.

In hindsight I'd pick a 350Z car over a STi anyday, but I wouldn't race one.

Now if I had to choose one car for all seasons it would be the funny looking awd STi, but for a Sports Car the Z all the way. I got a jeep so I don't need a Subraru. We agreed to disagree.

How would you have answered him with out fist it cuffs?
I know exactly what you mean. I have a guy with an STI in my neighborhood and every time he sees me he feels the need to rev his engine. I used to ignore him, but now I look at him and just laugh. Well, that really pisses him off and now he will tail gate me and blow by me at the neighborhood exit.

It's just down right funny. It seems the Z is the target car for every punk with something to prove. It's like they have some sort of animosity against a Z and they must show how much cooler they are. I don’t know, maybe their drunk father used beat them and he owned a Z. I don't get it, but it is funny as hell.
