I love how the car looks, actually...then again, I also love pretty much everything else about it...

But it's like meeting a new chick...the first thing u notice is how she looks...u get to know the rest later on (after you test drive her...heh).

 

ive actually owned both of the cars the Sti first obviously and to me the 350Z is more of an actual "sports" car. i loved the handling and launch of the STi no doubt but like someone said earlier on the highway is was def. lacking. but all in all the 350Z is a truer sports car.

Street racing.... everyone has done it at least once, everyone sees it.... A street race is generally two cars meeting at a red light and flogging it from the get go (where the STI is stronger) and generally stop racing once one is ahead (not giving the Z a chance to catch up in it's top end where it does so).

Basically- the main exposure people have to cars vs other cars doesn't give the Z a chance to show what it can really do

i just got my z but im really sorry about da sti owners and evo owners not tryna hate but i cant stand sti and evo because theres so ugly and they think there supa dupah fast than everyone. my owns a 96 civic with a b16 and my otha homeboy owns a evo and when i got my Z they started dissing my car saying its hella slow and heavy and wanted me to race them. and i told them i bought this car because of the look and i didnt buy it because i would race people on the streets everyday i dont give a damn if your car is super turbo or has a jet engine who gives a **** go race on the street so youll get ticketed or die. thats how i see it.. lol the people that i see that drives the sti and evo are fobs.

I just bought my Z, I could have got an STI for almost the same price. I test drove many of them, yeah, they are fast, but I wanted the whole package. The looks, the speed (or some of it ), the interior... The FEEL of the Z! The Z just felt classier and CERTAINTLY turns more heads. Does this mean I think the WRX is inferior? No, they both have their strong points, and infact, if I had the money, Id have both a Z and and STI (for the rainy days )

 

It`s like the original window stickers of both my old Z21 Turbo and my current Z32 says,"The Sports Car of Sports Cars". I always thought the Z was ahead of it`s time every decade. Compare the 240Z-280ZX to the other sports cars of the 70s and 80s,the Z31 in the mid-late 80s,the Z32 in the 90s,and the Z33 in the present............the Z33 is the fiercest and most bad a**est looking machine on the road today. Has anyone ever seen a Z33 and say,a Mustang pull up next to each other at a light? The Z33 IMMEDIATELY draws your attention.

I`ve always considered Z cars to be "Japanese exotics".

STIs and EVOS are rally cars built to win rally races of which they have won plenty. Both cars have stiffer suspensions, AWD, greater torsional rigidity, accelerate faster both in a straight line and in corners for cheaper, and do so with the convenience of four doors.

well actually...
i did buy my 350zR because of the looks and its reputation to be bought by rich, mid-life crisis folks. I needed a car that would fit in at "ricer" hangouts and at say a fancy ballroom event. Couldn't really do that with the boy racer look of my SRT-4..or even these STi's/evos...

In other words, I needed a balanced medley of sport compact performance and upscale status.

the 350z was the perfect hybrid of the two..for me anyway

 

Simple. Smile. Say nothing. When someone picks those type of battles it is a sure sign of someone who may be envious of your ride. I don't need to ask why someone bought a vette. A viper. A GT-R. There are only a few reasons that people pick certain types of cars.

For a specific need. They have 6 kids and only certain vehicles seat 8.

Dictated by available funds. Bought a Suzuki Swift well, because I work at MacDonalds for example.

They have noticed lately that their ***** has started to shrink and somehow believe that a car with a big wing and scoop, AWD, and 4 doors will make it bigger. STI owners.

Have decent funds, great taste, and enjoy getting attention from other drivers. Also tend to be skilled at handling a car that doesn't babysit you too much. Also tend to be predomimately hetrosexual. 350Z owners. Porche owners. Vette owners.

Most people know this, so when they comment to you about your Z, smile and say nothing, or tell them "Why did I buy it? Because I could. Oh, and because I'm interested in members of the opposite sex."

 

just look at them and say honestly
"Of course not"
pause for a second, raise one eyebrow and then ask
"Is that why you bought the STi?"

 

I have owned both cars and the best I can say is that when I went out to the STi I was not happy at all getting in.... Missed the Z every minute.

 

Tell him you can always turbo/supercharge, you'll go faster than the sti and look a million times better.

edit: better yet, tell him you bought the Z because it has the overall package of performance, price and looks.

 

Wow where do I start. First of all STI's aren't meant for rally you retard. It's a consumer vehicle you dip **** our suspension is tuned for the street. Second, STI will beat a 350z topend or on the track. Third, 350z convertibles look ugly as **** without the top down. Also, you dip ***** that say oh if my 350z was turbo i'd kill you. Then we can spend the same amount that you did and buy a bigger turbo and still smoke your sorry ***. 1/4 mile sti > 350z.

Also, the idiot that said sti tranny wouldn't handle your driving? STI tranny's are better made than the 350z transmission hands down. How is the STI not a sports car? 4 door? Give me a break. Does it make you feel better when u get beat by a sporty car? A 4 door at that. Any of you that think u'll beat an sti top end I'll race your *** for money. Go get ur turbo, cuz even with it i'll still smoke your ugly *** 350z. You bought it for a combination of all? I'll smoke you on the track or at the strip.

Your **** is slow in all aspects and you are all dipshits =))))). How good does it look when ur girlfriend is in ur car and u get smoked by a sti. Well atleast your car looks like a ****ing bug huh. Now go waste ur money in ur slow car and make it what a little faster. Go run ur 14 second 1/4 miles with civic si's.

 

You lost all credibility when you said "ugly". And unlike an STI, a 350z needs a proper driver to run 13's or 12's.
