Default If I didn't get the bose, can the sub compartment be converted to storage?

If the Z is designed so the steering wheel and everything is reversible for american/japanese market, that would mean that behind the passenger seat would be a storage bin. So if I didn't get the bose system, then there is is useless area behind the drivers seat in my american Z, but in Japan this would be a storage bin behind the passenger, so can I order a bin form japan and make it a an extra storage bin?

Anyone know if this is even possible?

Default j-spec glove compartment

I have been considering the exact same thing. Unfortunately I am having to cancel my trip to Japan in November where I was going to bring one back, but perhaps the same guys shipping the Titanium Exhausts out can figure out the cost of additional plastic bins. The only issue that would be tricky would be the rekeying of the lock on the j-spec rear glove compartment.

I posted about this in Modifications and didn't get much reply. I will be pursuing this mod as soon as I get a car, but doubt that my dealer would even know where Japan is much less be able to get parts from there. The tricky part will just be getting the parts. Re-keying should be no big deal since the locking mechanisms should be the same. May have to order a tumbler to match the car, but dealers can do this for doors, glove boxes etc. Should be the same process.

So lets hear from all members that live in right hand drive countries so we can persuade you to get us some parts!

If you don't get the Bose, aren't *both* areas storage? Seems like a waste if they just leave a big blank there instead of a pocket or compartment or something.

No, it is not storage. The area behind the driver's seat on the Base that I sat in is sealed shut. I have no idea why Nissan doesn't allow that to be opened unless they think they will **** off the touring people if they lose some storage space that everyone else has. Seems stupid to me, but then I wouldn't have put the cupholders where they are, the glove compartment behind the seat, the power card where it is inaccessible, the antennae . . .

I am planning to mount both of my amps there, so either I cut a hole and make an amp rack or ??

who knows, guess we will find out when we get our hands on the car.

I've thought about seeing what the cost would be to get the bose-sub bracket in order to install my own 10 sub in that location...hmmm not sure??

Default I don't want to

use the space for a sub or amp but to put in additional storage. Anyone with insider info know if it is possible to add a bin from Japan?
