Tried doing a search and couldnt find anything to help. I am wondering what the best way for me to find my 0-60 time is. I have a mt. how much gas should be in the tank typically when doing a 0-60 pass? and any suggestions to making it quicker. I know this is a sort of odd question but I am just trying to get some times before and after I install some new parts to help compare how much faster my Z accelerates.

0-60 is for magazine racers. It means nothing in real life. Go to a track and provide 60ft times.

edit-you could do 0-60 in 5.5 seconds stock and then add 30whp and run slower. 0-60 isnt a good measurement for gains in power, its more a measurement of a cars traction, and test surface which on anything other than a track will not be very consistent and therefore making the measurement worthles.

Your method of assessing performance is imperfect. You might buy a g-tech. Or go to the drag strip. On do a before and after dyno. The only problem is that you must do any before and after measurements on the same day.

throw some drag radials and dump the clutch at 6k and hope u get 4.2 0-60. Honestly who gives a *** about 0-60, the only 60 time i care about is my 60ft time.

You serious? You think a STOCK Z (not stock I guess) could get a 4.5 Second 0 to 60 with the right radials?

thats why i had the sarcasm face there. On a serious note, i do believe with the right conditions and drag radials the new Z is capable of mid 4s 0-60.

wow buddy, dont take everything you read as gold. He is messing with you. If you drop your clutch at 6k, expect to buy a new one soon.

I was researching launches the other day. Maybe thats what you need to look into also. There is alot of information about it online, detailing the different techniques and whats best for rwd cars. good luck and do let the mod bug consume you...

No I know, Id never drop it a 6k! I know better than that. Im just curious what a good launch, a little feathering, and some good radials might do to the 0 to 60 sprint. Im thinking a mid 4 as well....

Ive launched at 7200rpm's NA on slicks with the stock clutch and never had any issues. 03' clutches were the stoutest by far, new Z's ahve soft a$$ Civic clutches in them.

good lord!!!! i launched my z at 5k on slicks and i felt like my dash was about to fly off!!! my cubby opened by itself and **** came out flying all over the place...lol

+1, i have done numerous 5k semi feathering with my car and never had issues with it. 60k still on the stock clutch.

i said clutch dump not slip. If you dump your clutch without slipping at 7200rpm, it doesnt matter what stock car you are running, you are damaging the clutch and probably other things too. Good luck with your.... wait a minute, the 03's dont even redline at 7200... you must have been dreaming or trying to mess with me too..

ahh, makes sense. I stand corrected.

Question though, if the car is getting 287hp @ 6200 RPM and 274ft @ 4800 RPM, wouldnt 7200rpm be out of optimal range? Or have mods been added to change that too?

well im pretty sure the car didnt make any more power after 6800rpm but it might have stayed at peak power a bit longer.

let me know which mod would make power till 6800 rpm besides cams. I will go purchase that tomorrow.

i know 0-60 isn't best measure of performance, but its a fun street test. heres my attempt. i think i clocked at 5.2 or less, some say below 5
