Default Noob question about Z model years

I'm at the local Nissan dealer and I notice a "subject to previous sale" 350Z emblazoned with a big yellow "06". It's an enthusiast, auto, with about 24K miles on the clock. The price was about 23k.

It has what I took to be 2005 headlight assemblies, no LED tail lights and 2005 wheels. There is no rear wiper - just a cap. (There is a switch for one on the stalk, though.) The front side reflectors are missing.

I didn't get a peak at the VIN. The dealer swears this is a 2006. I say, nope, can't be. Also, dealer says not all 350Z's had a rear wiper, but they all had switches for one. Yeah, sure.

What do you fellas think?

LOL! No, I wouldn't buy a used car from him.

Just trying to have some fun while they do some warranty work on the one I have.

wow, just imagine the poor sap who bought the car from him!!! Yeah that makes complete sense, let's spend the money to wire up a rear wiper but not include it! Smart guy!!! HAHAHA, glad you had some fun with him though

Yep. I will check the VIN Monday just out of curiosity. It'll be interesting to see if it is actually a 2006 VIN with 2005 parts or a dealer/salesman screw up with that big yellow "06". And the wiper thing - sheesh. How far will he go?

if it is an 06 then the previous owner sold his headlights, rims, and led tails to make a quick buck before he offloaded the vehicle....bastard. run far far away from that salesman and the car

1)06+ tails = $300
03-05 tails = $30
2)06+ headlights = $1000
03-05 headlights = $400
3)06+ rims = $800
03-05 rims = $300
Just a rough estimate but if it is an 06 then the previous owner probably made like $1370 from the parts....

I think the '06 interior is different as well. I believe '06 is when they added cup holders to the armrests and, if its not a Base model, radio controls were added to the steering wheel.

I dropped by to have a look at the VIN at lunch today. The Z was no where to be found. Hmmm.

Did they give it back to the chop shop to finish swapping parts off of it?
