Z gets no respect? Rant
You shoulda went up to them after you ran your heat and asked them what their lap times were. After they told you, you shoulda giggled and walked off.
This is actually quite surprising though. We get a good amount of cars at my auto-x and NO ONE talks **** about any car out there. Everyone shows respect.

well i have to rant for a bit... This weekend i went to a local auto cross event sponsored by this a corvette club. There were a bunch of cars there about 20 vettes, 10 vipers and a hand full of mixed cars there.. and there were a few occasions where i felt attacked / hated on because on my Z.

and the other guy had a ford mustang 93-98 stlye with ebay front headlights and nasty chrome wheels.. also the celica's best run was 104.xxx and the mustang like 1:10.xxx my best run was 58.454 which was in the top ten..
2. on sunday, i was in line waiting to run a lap and there was this chick that looked like a butch lesbian with some dude in a c5 vette lined up next to me, and I heard the chick say "oh look one of those 300zx... huh 350z, stupid why is it here" the thing is he couldnt get under a min lap..
There were a few other comments I heard this weekend about my car that really pissed me off...I just dont get why people were hating on my car, I kept up with the evos, beat a few sti's, beat a ton of vetts, stock vipers, honda's, rx8's, ect...

Honestly, they are either ignorant or jealous of the Z or your car specifically. Good job.
Most Celica people dream of upgrading to a 350z, trust me.

I generally (when i do go out) meet up with a large group with high powered cars and they never say anything bad about my G or the Z's that go with us. I say that, they harrass some of the riced out Z's we have seen

I get the typical, girls car/not a real car crap... a lot of aussies love their big v8 utes it's a cultural thing I guess, even though they're heavy, redline at 5750rpm and don't leave much to the imagination in terms of styling. It's still a car a lot of 30-40 y.o. aussie guys want to have..... I'm just over getting involved in it- each to their own imo.

You played it smart. You didn't stoop to their level and play an immature insecure person by trying to put down anyone else. Just ignore it all. You got the last laugh about running times anyhow.
Their comments,... I'm sure it has to do with feeling insecure about who they are as a person. Their self-esteem is real low anyway if they have to talk trash about anyone else. There is nothing to worry about.
