Stupid and a waste, threw it straight in the trash. They'd have to pay me a ton of money to put OEM Bridgestones back on my car anyway, so I could take them right off and buy something else.

got the letter and pretty much a waste, so you get at most 150. but you have to buy oem tires again that land around 10,000 miles of use, not to mention that will only buy you one tire if that.

i've already gotten my 2 front tires replaced for free from the dealer. .ya think i can get 2 more with this letter and just sell them?? haha

I think the letter's just to inform, or help pay for the lawyer to do the job..i dont see why it was even sent out when we all know the problem, and the dealer fixes it for free after establishing that your Z has that issue. .so why are they even taking them to court? I think its just some fool looking to make a buck, like that moron lady who got million from McDonalds for spilling hot coffee in her crotch, with no label stating that coffee is hot.

I got the letter as well. It's only good for the lawyer tomake a cool million otherwise it's a waste.

Got the letter a week ago. A complete joke. The lawsuit is not even enough to cover the replacement of 1 tire let alone a complete set. No fixing of the problem. No alignment.

You have a better chance filing a direct complain with the dealership/Nissan. Or sell it off and try with another Z.

Question Nalas the Skeptic

It would be interesting to know how much the plaintiff's attorney(s) received in the settlement of this class action. I have no doubt it was much more than 150 X the number of members of the class.

Default attorney info

I tried contacting the attorney to obtain some more info on the why of the settlement. So far I have not been able to contact him and he has not returned my calls.

His secretary told me that his paralegal is handeling all the call, when I told her I am an attorney and wished to speak directly to him, she said he was out of town and I should leave him a voice mail. I¿ll see if he calls back.

not exactly...i studied that case in school a year or so ago. the women was elderly and got seriouse burns from the coffee, more so than a person under their 50's would get (i believe she was in her 70's or something like that). being they're wasnt a label on the coffee stateing it was hot wasn't exactly the reason she sued, they're was more to it.

Mcdonalds is subposed to have a certain temp. reg. on their coffee and they weren't following it. and to be honest "they still aren't," or so a previouse employee i know, says.

dont quote me on this info, i dont remember the case exactly because it was more than a year ago and i dont feel like looking it up. but i do know, it wasn't a complete redicules law suit, it was pretty legit, hence why she acctually walked away with *** loads of money.

I havent gotten the letter yet, and Ive got a 2004 model. If I remember correctly, they sent a letter a year or two ago on the feathering issue, I didnt think they brought it back up again. When I went to the dealer like two years ago, they said you have to bring it in with stock tires on it. So it was kinda pointless since I run aftermarket tires, sure wouleckd be nice if they replaced our aftermarket tires, cause my first set wore really bad on the inside pretty quick, they were the toyo proxy T1-S, which imo looked better than the T1-Rs, especially the rear tires with the really wide look! Anyways, Im gonna keep a look out, if its a nissan gift card I can definitely find something to put it towards!

If you don't opt out, you will be by default losing your ability to sue them afterwards on the issue. I'm already in a lawsuit with them on this issue and looks like we will be going to trial.

If I don't opt out my case will be thrown out of court....

FYI, understand that by throwing it in the trash you are giving up your rights to sue.

When my tires started to feather I was past the 'free fix' period.
