Default Possibly getting my Z TOMORROW!

This will prob. **** off alot of the pre-order people But...
I was too late to pre-order but quick enough to get on a waiting list to get a new Z of people who canceled pre-orders (#2 in line and $1000 Under MSRP!). The bad thing is that I didn't get to order the exact car and color I wanted, but the good thing is I really don't care because they are all sweet looking and are all Z's. Bottom line, CA is supposed to be getting Z's tomorrow (latest is 30th) and already have like 5 that have canceled in first batch, so it looks like I will def. be getting one, early, without going through pre-order hell. I'm actually glad I missed deadline because I'd be waiting for another month or two to get my car, as I would've ordered so damn late. Here's to a Silver/Blue Enthus. 6 Speed Model tomorrow!!!! (Dealer refused to confirm or deny that they were avail. tomorrow.)

LA-Z, which dealership in Socal are you getting your Z from? I was also told sometime before the 20th of Aug. But I dunno about that because I have a T order number...

If you are driving a Z by tomorrow, I'll eat my shoe, hat, and any other spare clothing I can find laying around. All I'm going to say is, don't get your hopes up...you will most likely be very disappointed when it doesn't happen.

Dude, I know, it's VERY doubtful, BUT, the latest is prob. the 30th, which I'm fine with. If it is ready tomorrow though, I will Be Prepared.

LA-Z,

I hope you do get your Z when you expect it and congratulations on your good fortune.

Just goes to show how messed up this whole operation has become. I would not mind waiting until October to get my car, knowing that the drivers of the Z's I see on the road ordered their cars before I did and had to go through the same frustrating process I did. The thought that many were ordered a month before delivery and at a lower price sends me into overload.

Well I didn't really order it, I'm on a waiting list, but on high enough to guarantee me a car. If it wasn't for the preorder people I wouldn't have one, and it's only because they canceled, so I do owe it all to the preorder people .

Anyway once they arrive I'm sure everyone will be very happy.

Wouldn't that be ironic. All us pre-orders have been waiting for months, and the first guy to post a pic of his Z at his house is a "walk-in". Hope you get it dude, but I was hopeing to be the first with pics.

That would sum up the pre-order/order/post-order program very nicely.

Congrats on the car LA-Z....looks like you played 'the game' well.

hope it's true, but I can't understand why the dealer would give it to you for under MSRP. Doesn't make sence. If I were the dealer I would be saying MSRP + $10K. For the hottest car of 2003 and beyond.

Yes, well while this is all in writing, we will know for sure when I get the call to come pick up the car. But the $1000 under MSRP has been assured by the Head Manager of the dealership.

Well up here in the bay area my dealer north bay nissan claims to be getting there first car tommorow(not mine). They say there getting one car delivered the 15 and then 4 more the 31st.Car is a silverstone touring sixspeed.Dealer said he would call me tommorow when it arrives so I can come check it out if I want(look no touch).I have yet to see the car live so I may run up there and try not to drool on the lucky guys car.Anyways as we all know dealers talk out of there *** most of the time ,but I think that someone will be getting his car this week. One other thing there are cancellations on this car, I was offered a silverstone touring delivery date of aug31st from a cancelled order had same configuration that I wanted just wrong color .He gave me a night to sleep on the color change,I decided to stick to my original order. He sold car to next person behind me an hour later. So anyways all you smart early preorders chill out a bit your cars will be here soon enough.

Yeah, its at Cerritos Nissan. La-Z, are you sure they are coming in? I talked to Kathy and she said they were getting 5 this month, 5 in September, and about 30-40 in October. I don't think the 5 coming in are all cancelled preorders. I dunno, but if email me or reply, I want to know what's going on since I'm right after you (#3).

And drive up to the bay area to let some of us test-drive your car.

Well, for whatever it's worth---

I regularly receive spam-type e-mail from my salesman about specials of the month etc. Last night when I received on, I wrote back to him that if he wanted to continue to spam me, he should pull Pull reports KMD3210-R2 (Production Ordering Detail Report) and KMD3210-R3 (Customer Orders Report) and let me know about my car.

He wrote back:
"Yes sir I finally do have some great news for you. I will know on 8/15/2002 the exact date that your car will be arriving and I will also have the VIN number in case you want to contact your insurance company. I hope that we will be closing your deal up by the end of the month. I do know that we have five pre-ordered 350Zs coming in this month sometime before the end of the month. I look foward to wrapping this all up for you soon."

MMMmmm...why am I still skeptical??

He might be very close. I'm hearing that many DC metro area dealers are expecting shipments the first week of September. If that ETA has a window of plus or minus 5 days, it's quite possible.

As an FYI to DC metro folks, Nissan in Annapolis is getting their 1st shipment in the 2nd week of September.

I believe before the first bulk deliveries we'd see a "I saw a truckload of Z's post". That hasn't happened yet. Still I can tell
delivery is not too far off - I'm starting to dialate.

I think I might wreck if I saw a truckload of Z's. I would follow that truck all the way to it's destination. The poor truck driver would look behind him and see a line of cars about a mile long. I may dream that tonight.
