The Z speed limiter

who has actually hit the speed limiter in there Z?

Mine kicked in at 155. Is that what it is?

Something must be wrong with your car then. Most Z's on this site are capable of 200.

If you do a search you will find several that claim it is around 158-161. I don't know. I figure a big rabbit will total my car if I hit it above 130.

He probably broke something on his Z when he was doing 130 in a 35mph zone during a streetrace. Hence the reason his Z only does 155.

When I bought my 03 I got up to 160 on the way home from the track on a back road. It was stock at the time, not sure what's wrong with yours.

I topped out at 156 driving back from Phoenix on the backway thru Sholo & Payson. Now that I have done this, no need to tempt death anymore.

You know with all this testing. I'm wondering if there is any place we can go that has a long enough straight away and is legal so that we can test our cars. Of course I'm talking West Coast not Europe. Most tracks wouldn't let us to test this out as it takes what 2 miles to hit that speed in our Z's. Anyone know the answer to either question?

I wonder if LVPD might be able to set something up for us guys every three months or so. Is it possible? I'd do the work to back it. We might get some people into Vegas on the idea too. Just a thought.

We might even be able to get a ambulance and have some helmet rules etc....

I know about the salt flats .... but, hard top is what I'm talking about here.
