Lucky you. Guess how long it took someone to ding my door? Go ahead, guess.

1 day and 3 f**king hours. That's right, 27 hours. I even parked in the back of the parking garage at work, top floor, taking up two spots (at an angle) and someone still manged to ding my door. Probably out of spite since NO ONE parks in the back except this Audi, but it's white and the ding left was blue.

If I ever find that ****er, I'm taking off his side mirrors.

I feel you pain. The fourth day I had my car it snowed so I couldn't park it on the top garage level at work, so I parked it on the far corner of the next to last floor of the parking garage. Low and behold I noticed a door ding that chipped off some paint when I was getting ready to leave. Lucky for that bastard that he had already left.

I've had the worst luck so far.... after 2.5 months it's been a massive chip in the front window from a rock comming off a truck and a tire has gone on me, so I dont think the paint chip is far off....

I do park away from the savages who swing their doors open and I always park up a hill as shopping trolleys have a habit of 'rollin'. What's really infuriating though is this.... Parking far away from everyone BY YOURSELF and comming back to find that someone in a 10 year old camry wagon has parked right next to you!

QFT... lol. Nothing better than seeing some old *** beater parked right next to you even though there are plenty of other spots available.

If I see them in the lot, I park next to any car more expensive than mine. That way they 1.) Don't want to mess up their own door, so should be more careful than most people and 2.) If someone decides to steal my car, they should see the more expensive car next to me and choose that instead.

I'm surprised it took you that long to get your first ding. The body panels are soft on the Z compared to the other cars i've owned.

hahaha... i thought i might be the only one who parks on the end so only one car can park next to me. I take it one step further tho. I try to park so that if another car were beside me it'd be there passenger door to my car. Hopefully there is no passenger and therefore no chance on door dingage.

o ya and passengers are not allowed to get in or out on the car until i pull out of the garage and i also have carpet on the wall where my door could touch... that carpet has saved me a couple of times. it's a pretty tight spot.

I used to do this as well, then I realized that (at least around here) most people who have those 'nice cars' like mercedes, BMW etc are either people who just buy the car to show off and say 'i have a benz'
They dont really care about taking care of it and hence wont care about swinging the doors wide open....or rich kids who got the car form their parents and who don't care either cos if it gets dinged or breaks, they get a new one.
I still choose the far away parking spot cos if there's one thing here is lazy people, and they will rather wait 20 minutes circling around a lot waiting for a close spot than park far.

I do all the same stuff to avoid dings and back out scrapes.

Family is visiting and one of them has had a total knee replacement, uses a cane and thusly has a handicapped parking permit. When we take the Z we take the permit too. Lots of room in a handicapped space. Looks funny to see a Z with a permit hanging in the windshield. Seems contradictory, a fast slow person.
