woh. that's a nice lookin' car... but those exhaust tips... look... misplaced?

If you check out the rear tire in the drift photo... man... the rim is nearly touching the ground! Looks like the entire tire is rolling off the rim.

Here's an excerpt from the article on the event. Man he must have been beating the hell out of that car. I guess you can say the Z is pretty resilient.

http://www.SportCarMotion.com
"A’pex-Integration driver Youichi Imamura is currently leading the 2003 Japanese D1 Series with three rounds in the books and was on hand piloting a A’pex-I / Motorex/ Nissan 350Z specially built for the event. A’pex-I is also constructing another FD3S RX-7, identical to the one that Imamura is currently campaigning in Japan, for the August U.S. D1 event. Behind the wheel of the 350Z, Imamura was a wild man and thrashed hard enough to unseat one of the rear tires – ending his run early but not a bit of his intensity. Besides the rim damage, Imamura also managed to loosen one of the prototype N1 mufflers from its mount. The crowd ate up his hype all day."

So that explains why the muffler is all whacked in the first picture too (besides Ares comment). That's some hard drifting there.
