Default Nissan really got me

I bought my 350Z certified preowned with 56,000miles in January at North Plainfield Dealership and I went to get the emission and inspection stickers for the state of PA. I found out that my front bridgestones are done and just found out that my rotors are all done. The mechanic said my rotors were probably done before I bought the car.
He gave me the Rotor Spec: LF 7B RF 7B LB 6B RB 6B.
Basically Nissan got me good since none of this is included in their warranty.

did you not bother to look at the tires? thats one of the first things i would do when buying a used car. brakes would be second, lmao. no one screwed you, you just screwed yourself. rotors arent that expensive, buy a set from r1concepts.com. tires on the other hand will be a bit costly but nothing major.

Really you looked at the tires before buying the car.

“LF 7B RF 7B LB 6B RB 6B.” Haven't the faintest what all this gibberish means.

Default Let's...

focus on the individual seller and not Nissan as a whole. More importantly...just what exactly did your pre-view of the vehicle include before you opened your wallet?

Default Nissan CPO

I sell Nissans and let me tell you this. Nissan CPO is basically just an extended warranty. There is no extra inspection that the dealer will do most of the time. Although the used car saftey should have cought the brakes and tires. Used car safety inspections are kind of a joke. They just makes sure the car starts and stops. Thats about it. Sorry to hear you burned yourself and have to cover the cost. You might just try talking to the used car manager and if you are persistant enough he might give in. Good luck

Try writing a letter to the home office about it, I once wrote a letter to GM and they sent me back a check.

When I checked out the car when i first bought it the tires were fine. Just after 3000 miles the front tires started feathering on the inside and steel was showing.

Wear items (brakes, tires, fluids) are never covered by a warranty.

In all my years of being a mechanic, i have no damn clue what the hell (LF 7B RF 7B LB 6B RB 6B) means. Did he MIC the rotors or something? Are they warped? are the pads grinding what? Maybe the mechanics taken you for a ride as well. And if the car's been certified that SHOULD mean that they have done the full inspection of the car b4 selling it, so warranty or not. I'd take it back and raise hell. But some items that the driver has control over are never warrantied due to it's how YOU drive and not everyone drives the same. You could be a braker for all they know.

Well, if they looked fine to you, they probably looked just fine to the seller as well. Doesn't sound to me like they did anything wronG.

And as others have pointed out Nissan didn't sell you that used car, the North Plainfiedl dealership did.

It always makes me chuckle whenever I read the "bought used car, it's a lemon" stories."

Why didn't you take it to a trusted mechanic for inspection before you bought it? It's not a sure thing but any competent mechanic would easily pick out worn tires and rotors.

When buying a car, it is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that the car is in decent shape. The seller should disclose anything that may be wrong with it but ultimately, it is up to the buyer to protect themselves against this sort of thing.

I still remember it like it was yesterday, peering under what I hoped would soon be my Z to see brand new Michelin PS2s staring back at me.

How can you not check this? I know jack about buying cars and I still looked at the tires. It seems pretty obvious.

I was all over my 04.5 before I bought that car. I ended up getting new tires, brakes, and alignment done before I bought it. I dont know a whole lot about cars but, from reading on this forum as well as some others I wont mention I learned about buying a Z and what to look for. But, does it really matter? You have a Z so be happy. Enjoy it...

I am not sure why anyone would buy a car that costs as much as these cars cost and not have someone inspect it.
