Gas Mileage for 07-08 Z owners?

OK. Let me pose the question: What are you guys doing that I'm not? We have virtually the same car with exactly the same engine but somehow you are getting far better gas mileage than me. I've never driven anything but a manual transmission and have yet to wear out a clutch. Also, I still have every car that I've ever owned in my 38 years on this planet -- currently the number is 4. Please let me know when and how you shift and whether you have AT or MT trannies.

I used to beat myself up over my MPG. Well, I still do! Keeping it real. I, too, have owned nothing but MTs. I've tried every "trick" in the book. The one thing that saved a lot of gas for me is warming up the engine! I used to let it idle for 5-8min every morning. Now I just hop in and wait till the RPMs drop to 1k then I drive.
I shift at 3-3.5k. Any lower and I find that I lose gas cause the engine won't pick up very well in the 2k range. 3k is about perfect. Shift too soon, you end up having to give more gas to maintain speed...too late and well...you'll have lots of fun and an empty tank.
I honestly don't think anyone can get a consistent MPG in the city over 18 or so. That is unless they live in a place that has all DOWN HILL roads!

No 2007 - 2008 gets more then 20 MPG City. Keep dreaming otherwise!

I get the same exact mileage as you do.. it baffles me whenever I see someone post 23mpg in the city. It makes me
I am now getting over 24 in town, changing gears early, easy on the gas, thanks to high gas prices. It picks up fine, as low as 1,200 rpms. I have been changing at 2,200 to 2,400 rpms, smoothly and easy.
I didn't reset the MPG, so I am probably getting higher mileage, as it has averaged over the month, and I have only been driving this way for the last two days.
I may reset it to see how high tomorrow, when I go to work. I know this is hard to swallow for some of you, but right now, I can live with it.

Only had mine a few days (about 400 miles).
So far it's been 24-29.
On the highway is usually between 28-31, depending on speed (trucks in CA have to go 55, so if I get behind one, I end up with nice MPG numbers :P) and direction (hills and such).
City... doesn't really exist. Just towns, so very few (if any) stops - just slowing to 30-40 MPH.

Numbers went downhill after fujita intake, Turbo-XS ehaust and resetting ECU. OR maybe driving habits caused it to go downhill??
