Damage Going from Auto to Manual
So I had to play musical cars the other day because I was blocking in my mom's car. So I backed my car up (which is a manual trans.) and left it running in the street, then I hopped into my mom's automatic altima and pulled that out for her. After backing out the altima, I hopped back into my car to pull it back into the driveway... Well, when I was going back into the driveway with my car I just couldn't friggin stop! I live on a decline too, and when I finally ripped the e-brake, I was just a split second too late.. I remember slamming on the clutch multiple times but not stopping.. It was my first time driving an automatic since I got my car.. it felt so weird... And because of such a dumbass thing happening, I ended up running into a small rock next to my driveway and now it looks like my 08 with under 3k miles is going to need a new front bumper already...

Haven't had any troublesome mixups since I drive the girlfriend's auto
fairly often, but I always find myself keeping my right hand on the
shifter.. Hopefully I don't try to downshift into park one day.

That reminds me of the time I was driving in Florida, driving my moms auto Camry....driving down an offramp....getting ready to stop, thinking I'm hitting the clutch to put it in Neutral...I slammed on the brakes!!! Lol....
needless to say i scared the bejesus out of my passenger, made lots of noise and felt embarrased doing what looked like a frantic stop similar to some newbie driver...
