Would you pick up this 03 350z?
Sorry to create more of these "would you" threads, but I just sold my wrx and am looking at this white touring 03. I am aware of the bugs this year such as the tranny woes, tire feathering, and window streaking. However, the owner said the transmission has been replaced already because it was making a humming noise. It has about 33k miles, and in good condition body/interior wise. He's willing to do $17,500 for it. When I test drive it and there is no griding, would this car be worthy to pick up?
I'm wondering how bad these early 350 trannies really are, considering I'm coming from a wrx which also had common tranny problems.
Thanks!

Does he have proof he did this? And I think you could get it for less. I am picking up a Brickyard Touring (03) with 57,000 miles this Saturday for $15,000. Offer him less. Also see if he took it in for the recall on the fuel lines. Not sure if it was ALL 03's but check.
If you can, talk him down a bit less. If not it's still a good buy. My 03 is on the original tranny with 84k+ miles. I track the car and do the occasional spirited driving runs when conditions permit. I replaced the clutch and flywheel just because the stock one was starting to slip.
Tire feathering, meh it kicks my *** in tires but it's not so bad if you stay at stock ride height.
Window streaks....I'm too lazy to take my door panels off and clean the chit so it'll stop. This is probably the worst of the "defects" IMHO.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I think the tranny problems are exaggerated. Only the people with problems are really posting about them. I haven't had a problem but then I don't get on the web and say I have no problems. I've yet to see the window streaking problem on my '03. The feathering was resolved by an alignment.

sounds like a good price for the milage and the fact that it is a Touring..
I would say go for it. I guess it wouldnt hurt to ask for less.. but you might feel like a douche when he says "no" and you go.. ok nevermind I'll buy it for 17,500 (being that is still a good price)

man for 18K thats just 500$ more you can pick up an 04.5 keep searching and search other cities too, whats with you guys and only looking to buy near your town... drive a little and youll find a better deal
Youre not gonna find a much better price for a touring with that amount of miles. If its clean and it great shape then yes it is well worth it. I have an 03 with 92k miles on the original trans and clutch!!!! The trans thing was just a bunch of whinny people who cant drive is all. The trannys are pretty much bullet proof!! lol. Anyways if you like the car get it, maybe offer him 17k flat but ethier way its a good deal.
