Question Most desireable Z?

What year 350z will be the best one for staying NA? I'm in the process of looking for one. My shitty altima is bound to die soon, and the FX is horrible on gas. But we're keeping the FX, since thats paid off.

Thanks
Don

You're looking for something with good gas mileage and thinking about a Z?

Well better than the FX. The best I can do on the highway is 21mpg. And thats commuting 150 miles a day. I average about 25-26mpg on my 2000 altima.

well if you are looking for something to do alot of driving in. i dont know if id be looking at a Z. i bought mine mainly for track duty. and the odd sunday cruise. and i can tell you right now, i am very happy that i have a luxury sedan to take care of my daily driving. the Z is rough as hell, and cramped. people all like them, cause they look so cool. but they arent all that nice to drive. its a track car, and you can tell as soon as you get on the road with one.

they are not cramped for a 2 seater at ALL. youve never sat in a solstice/sky/s2000/z3 etc... its a very nice 2 Seater

I've gotten 30-31mpg in my 04 before. heck, in the city it does better than my last car - a 97 automatic 4 cylinder Accord. And I'm not gentle on the throttle by any means.

I agree. While there isnt a whole lot of room for luggage (or extra passengers), the space for the driver and passenger is quite good. Especially compared to pretty much any other two seater.

/agree

I was able to pack 2 cell phones, 1 pack of Smokes, a lighter, a bottle of water and a box of chocolates with no problem at all.

I'm not to worried about the passenger room or luggage space. Thats why we have the FX. This will be my DD and track car. Hence staying NA

I've been out of the car scene for about 4 yrs. Its time to pick up my hobby, mainly autocrossing, and some trips down the strip.

I'm not to worried about a bumpy ride, my old car was a 91 Mr2 turbo with a really stiff suspension setup and I drove that daily for about 4 yrs before it got totalled.

i think that my daily driver z does good on gas mileage (except free way because i cant coast i have to speed on the freeway.) i cant say exact mpg but i got a tank to last 8 days. i just got my oil change (full synthetic) so ill see what i get this week. my 91 300zx na slicktop got really good mileage also and it had all kinds of performance good stuff on it. i also do not belive this car is a full track car, i mean face it, its no lotus. Its acctually comfortable compared to every track car ive riden in. just go test drive.

Mine is a 2003 track model, and I get 28.- mile per gal on the road. As to the best, a good used one with a good maintenance record is a must. Don't buy blind. Oh, I'm not quite NA, I do have CAI, NISMO Headers and NISMO Catback, which definitely helps with gas mileage. Good luck, but all Z's are good in my mind.

I've already test drove a 350 back on 06, before we chose the FX(influenced by the wife ) It was basically down to the g35, 350z and the FX. But now since the FX is paid off, its now my time to get the car I WANT.. lol

I still liked the Z out of the 3 mentioned above. It was the closest thing to a track car like my old mr2.

Lol, you are still NA till you go turbo/supercharged.

ND4TT, Go with 08, it is basically a z with almost all its kinks worked out and also holds more power than all the other years except the 07 which is the same as 08. But the 07 did have some slave cylinder issues. Also Z's gas mileage is not bad for a car that pushes almost 270 to the wheel and is labeled a "sports car" Good luck.

Go for the Enthusiast; best bang for buck.

by the way, the 350 is my daily driver without a problem. Issue is roads where you live. I'm in Cali with no ice/snow to tear up roads. But in northen climates not sure I'd want one.
