Question When should i shift??!!

I have about 140 miles on my car and in the break-in period, I don't go over 3k rpm. I shift at about 2.7k rpm but I find I accelerate very slow in the begining. The manual and general concensus of the forums is that its okay to go up to 4k rpm. If i decided that id go up to 4k rpm, at what rpm should i shift?

WELL ON THE OWNER'S MANUAL SAY'S "IT'S GOOD TO STAY UNDER 4000 RPM" SO DON'T SWT, IT'S ALL GOOD, IMO I WILL SAY TRY TO STAY AT 3000RPM, IT'S JUST BETTER. JUST BE PATIENT FOR THE FIRST FEW MONTH, AFTER IT BREAKS IN.... AHAHHAHH
zzzZZZZZ YA!

I usually shift around 3500 unless I'm really pushing the car for speed. When I'm cruising I try to keep it between 2500 and 3000 rpms.

i find it hard to just cruise in my Z so I would be contradicting myself if i were to tell you to keep it under 3000. I know patience is what i lack

Default When to shift...

From the owners manual, page 5-14:

Suggested up-shift speeds
Shown below are suggested vehicle speeds for
shifting into a higher gear. These suggestions
relate to fuel economy and vehicle performance.
Actual up-shift speeds will vary according to
road conditions, the weather and individual driving
habits.

For normal acceleration in low altitude areas
[less than 4,000 ft (1,219 m)]:
Gear change MPH (km/h)
1st to 2nd 8 (13)
2nd to 3rd 16 (26)
3rd to 4th 25 (40)
4th to 5th 28 (45)
5th to 6th 33 (53)

For quick acceleration in low altitude areas or in
high altitude areas [over 4,000 ft (1,219 m)]:
Gear change MPH (km/h)
1st to 2nd 15 (24)
2nd to 3rd 25 (40)
3rd to 4th 40 (64)
4th to 5th 45 (72)
5th to 6th 50 (80)

Talking regarding that guide

I did read it in the manual, and I almost wet myself laughing because I was shifting at the corresponding km/h numbers instead. :-D

See, that seems weird to me. I usually cruise 35 mph in 4th, sometimes 3rd. 25mph is always 3rd, and up to 25 im usualy in 2nd. Seems like driving around in 6th at 35mph just doesnt seem right.... When im accelerating, under normal driving conditions, im usually shifting to 2nd at 20 or so. I guess those suggestions are a bit to 'tame' for me... or maybe i just drive to hard.

I don't know, if I'm accelerating very slowly, I see that this does seem to work pretty well:

1st to 2nd 8 (13)
2nd to 3rd 16 (26)

Although my more normal driving would warrant a slightly tamer version of the "quick acceleration" method
