Who had the 1st 350Z???
I relatively new to the forum and when the 350z's first dropped I was in love but I couldn't afford it on my student salary but I remember them going for quite a premium on ebay (I believe that is correct??)
Does anyone remember who bought the 1st one? I swear it was off of ebay for a pretty hefty price
or maybe i'm just completely wrong

There were pre-production models scattered around, but the first US spec 2003 350z with a U.S. VIN # 000001 was sold on ebay in 2002. I can't find the article, but from what I remember it was a silver track model and sold for something like $95,000. The proceeds went to some charity. Nissan scored bookoo publicity from the event. I don't know who bought it (although that info was probably covered in the press at the time). I don't think anyone knows where the car is today or who owns it. I'm sure it's decomposing in some rich dudes warehouse.
First year early VIN#s have always been more valuable once the car becomes collectable. Interesting VIN#s make for good conversation and might increase the value slightly.
Does anyone have an interesting VIN#? You should check it. It might be something cool! Somethling like 000350 or 666350 or 010101or your birthday or ATM code or something?

The first 350Z was sold in a charity auction. Here's the article on it...

IIRC, a dealer in Washington bought it.
EDIT: I remembered correctly (https://my350z.com/forum/showpost.ph...8&postcount=32)

Auction and sold to Washington State Nissan Dealer
Everett Performance Nissan in Washington State bought this car off charity auction. It is usually on-display in their new car showroom. I have seen it there regularly since my 07 350Z is serviced at this dealership.
