Default Zero to Sixty: What gear do you get there??

Are you making it in second, or do you have to go to third, and if so what MPH are you going to 3rd.

Thanks.

This is not a trick question. 38 people viewed and no answers.
Come on Z owners.

0 - 60 is hit in second gear. 2nd gear top speed on my digital is 62.

And be patient.

most car companies gear their cars so that when they do this 0-60 acceleration tests, it should be at the top of 2nd gear.

nearly every car i've ever driven has been like this, shifting a second time will lower the time, and car companies dont like posting slow 0-60.. :P

yeah sadly most cars really dont have enough power to get to 60 in 2nd properly. the Z is most likely one of these cars. owell what can ya do, they slow cars down in the quarter to help them in the 0-60. but anyway, yeah 62, tho I ussually shift at about 59... I dont wanna hit the limiter, if I were being tested for 0-60 Id floor it till it went off or I hit the limiter, but my own driving there is no special award for 0-60 time.

I usually shift like you Ares, at 58-59 because I do not want to hit the limiter.

I just asked the question because The 5.3/5.4 posted 0-60 time seems a little quick to me, I was just wondering what other people thought, because in 2nd gear it is feasible, having to shift to 3rd makes the number unbelievable.

If anyone else answers the question, list waht mods you have and if this impacts the MPH you are able to achieve before shifting to third.

Cheston's ECU flash would make it easier for us about to redline.

only a higher redline or new gears would change your mph in 2nd. mods do not change anything but hp.
