Default NJ Pre Orders...anything yet??

Has anyone in NJ received any info from their dealer regarding arrival of their car, or any other information like a Vin#.

I ordered my Z from a dealer in Jersey City and as of this past Friday they had no idea when they would be receiving any orders.

Any sightings at Port Newark?

There was a thread that said that some Zs had been delivered at Port Elizabeth, or something like that, whichever port is next to the Goethals. My dealer hasn't given me an update yet (other than Aug-Oct window), although I expect to receive my car in late September-

I received my Vin and ETA all the way back on August 1st. My ETA is september 12th and I have my VIN. I heard Port elizabeth will be getting z's on the 21st, but they may have already arrived?

I ordered from Pinebelt of Keyport. I spoke to my dealer last week and got some bad news. I ordered on 5/3 and was told that my car is currently scheduled to leave Japan on 10/25. But it may leave in Sept. if Nissan can get an earlier boat. This just feels like a total runaround to me. Especially since I was told Aug delivery for the longest time. Not that I belived it would be here in August, but I thought the latest would be OCT. I am looking at a late Nov. delivery.

He also told me that 2 of his earlier pre-orders got letters directly form Nissan last week telling them their cars would be here the second week of Sep. This the 1st I have heard of Nissan sending letters with specific delivery times directly to customers.

I just have a bad feeling about this dealership. This is the same dealer that told me in July that all 9 of his preorders would be coming at the same time in August because they can fit 9 cars on the same truck.

Just got off the phone with my dealer. The only cars he has VINs for are the track cars. No VINS for touring, performance, enthusiant, or base.

Cars aren't supposed to show up until the 21st at Port Newark, so I'm still keeping the faith. I was the first order submitted, so I'd be a little peeved if someone who ordered in March got their car ahead of me, but that's the way the ball bounces. Hopefully I'll have some more accurate info in a day or two...

ZGirl, how did you acquire your VIN so soon? Was it from your dealer, or from NNA? (Just curious, as it may help explain why some have VINs and some don't).

I order mine in NJ, have a VIN, and an anticipated delivery of 09/02/02. I got my VIN by calling my dealer and asking him to look into it for me. He then either checked his computer or called Regional, and got it for me. It's my understanding that you should be able to get your VIN now if it's coming in the first couple weeks in September. ie. It's definitely been produced and is on a boat.

I ordered on Jan 12th and have an EDD of October, so it can happen.

Nope. I won't do any business with Cherry Hill. The salesmen are jerks and completely treated me like a dumb blonde when I walked in there. They didn't even want to talk to me about the Z...and they had no idea what they were doing. So I decided to call around and found a dealership in Pleasantville, NJ right outside A.C. who has been fantastic!

My dealer called me and let me know that he had my ETA and my VIN. I was the 2nd car ordered.

I went down to Pleasantville and talked to a pretty nice salesman (forget his name), but by the time I had gotten there I would have been about number 8 or 9 of the 9 spots they had. I called around and found out that I could be number 5 of 9 at Mt. Holly, so that's what I did. I didn't bother with Cherry Hill either. I took my chances with a smaller dealer. So far it's seems to be paying off with my Sept 2nd delivery estimate.

NJ- I recieved VIN, Build month, and delivery date of 9/2.
I second that Cherry Hill Nissan salesmen are a bunch of sleeze bags.

Did you talk to Woody Paisley by any chance? He's been there a while - he's a really nice guy. When I pre-ordered, I was #2 and they were only allotted 7. They must've been given 2 extras between March and June. Where are you from Evicid?

The name Woody Paisley isn't sounding familiar to me. Whoever I talked to, I think I still have their card somewhere in my house. I'll have to look for it. I went there around mid March, and he said he was going over person number 7's house that night to sign them up, and that I could be number 8 or 9. So, I guess they must have gotten extras.

I grew up in Marlton, but I'm currently living by Princeton.
