Default Cause for Computer Speedometer Difference From Dash Speedometer ?

Car and Driver just tested the 350Z recently and found a noticable discrepancy between the readings from the analog guage speedometer and the computer digital speedometer ! I have never had this problem on my 350Z ( just the opposite , they couldn't be more synchronized ) and was wondering if anyone has , and if anyone has any thoughts on possible reasons why this could have occurred ?

Mine appears to be off by .5-1mph: Like the needle will read 49 but the analog says 50.
No clue why. Its at all speeds.
I dunno

Does the Z have a wheel sensor to calculate speed for the computer digital readout or is it mechanical ?

all info comes from the tranny. Id imagine its a slight calibration issue with the actual mechanism of the needle. mine is also off by like .5 or 1, but then again, hard to say since the speedometer only has lines like every 5mph. unless it was off by like 3 or 4, I really cant notice.

Default same here

Mine is off a bit as well, funny you mentioned this because I was just really noticing it the past few days. I find myself using the digital speedo much more than the analog. Anyone else use one more than the other?

Anyone have their 350Z speedometer calibrated and found a difference between actual speed and reading?

Default Can this be fixed?

Having the same problem here. Mines off by 1 mph at all speeds. Is there any way to fix this? Maybe take it into the dealer and they should be fixing this (if they can) at no cost right?

Default Speedometer calibration

Which way was it off?

1. Speedometer reads higher than actual speed, or:

2. Speedometer reads lower than actual speed?

Thanks.

Default Speedometer

The digital is reading 1 mph higher than the analog needle. Ive been thinking about taking it into the dealer and see'ing what they could do.
