wanted to say thanks for all the posts. had the car since 06 so pretty familiar with the ride, cause if u own a Z u gotta drive the crap out of it cause its fun. have had the tints too for a while and just a pop charger for a bit more noise. then i stopped and havent done any mods. had test pipes too but sold those. want to do more looks than speed right now, again thanks for the great info

then you need to read this thread at least three times:

once you figure all of that out, get what will work for you.

Z04,

Where did you get that graphic! That has got to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen! LOVE IT!

It sounds like you've been kind of doing things aimlessly, which is a good way to waste money and get bad results. You probably should go back to the stock intake and not mess with anything until you have some kind of real goals and a plan to get there. Aftermarket intakes are a pretty dumb mod for most people honestly.

Also, which version do you have? Base, touring, grand touring, what? That's pretty important if you want useful advice.

But, since you already put the post up, ill give u my opinion. If i was you, after awhile of drivign the car, i would start with suspension and wheels. If you plan on doing alot of work to the engine you should also consider upgrading your brakes. Going fast is great until you realize your car cant corner or stop well anymore. Everything kinda depends on your budget and what your goals are for your specific car. Dont forget to check the classifieds section on here for parts. You can get alot of quality stuff on here brand new or slightly used for much cheaper than you would on a reg website or local dealer/store

I hear this a lot from people..."that you should learn to drive your car to its full potential before you mod" Unless your a professional driver or a serious one that actually competes, the likely hood of you driving your car to its potential or even close to it is very unlikely. I say get familiar with the car and its capabilities and then figure what you want to do with it autox, track, drag, street, ect. I personally would probably go with some Rs2s and suspension. Because no matter what you do with the car your going to need a good set of tires, and the same goes for suspension as well, though suspension in drag racing is not usually an important factor.

it will be a lot easier to just do your own research on this forum and decide what is best for you. in doing this for myself, i decided to get the copper iso-thermal plenum spacer. i love it. i also did the JWT clutch flywheel. awesome. here are a few shots of the car with the c-west carbon body kit.

I dont think anyone expects to get full potential out of their car on streets and not a track or be able to drive like a porfiessional after a short while of driving. All i said was get a serious feel for the car bc it is much better to get accostomed to the car the way it is stock so you dont overwhelm yourself by adding mods. Its better to grow with ur car than upgrading it and having to catch up. If a person cant handle what they've done to their car and they push it too hard its a good way to get into an accident. You make a great point about deciding what you wann do with your car before adding mods. So many people waste money on parts they dont need bc they were undecided with what route they were taking their car.
