That's what I was thinking, but if you were bringing it to a dealer, they wouldn't care what you have done to it. Effecting the emissions actually hurts value. With that said, expect to get around 28,000 - 29,000 being VERY generous. If I were you, part it and sell it stock. You'll make more that way.

Dealership offered $19,000, I laughed. I am looking at the new Nismo rims made by Volk, think there called LMGT4 if I decided to keep the car. I should have got the Brembo brakes when I first puchased the car, but I always wanted to get different rims, performance gains was at the top of the list vs new rims. I am definitely torn about selling it or keeping. But if the right price came along I would consider it, just do not want to give her up for nothing, you know, way too much fun to drive.

I would, but I have not the tools or the knowledge to do that, I had every mod installed at the dealership, and I paid a pretty penny for each one too, but worth I think

Honestly, I would keep it. It's very clean looking, should have some good power, and you've put a lot into it. With only 19k miles, you haven't enjoyed this car for long enough, IMHO, to get out of it what I would want to. I would put new wheels on it and keep the car for a long time to come. You can always save up for an ADDITIONAL Z!

Personally, I say keep it. If it's a decision you're not making right off the bat on a whim and you seem torn to let it go, I'd keep it. It's not worth what the dealership says it's worth. I bought my 2004 Touring with 28K for 19,000 just to show you that it's obviously worth more (then again, they were asking 24,000 and I used my car salesman skills). Tell them straight up; everything was dealer installed and they are authentic NISMO parts. If you don't get 26,000 at LEAST, you'll gladly go to another dealership.

BE SURE TO USE THAT LITTLE LINE. Ask to deal with the general sales manager. Tell him this nice line. "If you don't want to give me what the car is worth, I'll gladly go to (insert their competitor Nissan dealership's name here) who already offered to help me out."

That makes them go effing bonkers.

Since you will take a financial beating trying to get rid of the Z, I advise you to keep it and just worry about getting the down payment elsewhere.

You could:
(1) Refinance your home (if you have one)
(2) Deplete savings / retirement funds ( don't worry... with the gov't we have there will nothing to look forward to in retirement anyway)
(3)rob a bank...(not responsible if you decide to do this one...lol)
(4)not buy another car

Just trying to help.

^^^ nobody appreciates a tuner car now adays except for the hardcore tuner themselves. You'll get the most of your cash back if you do part out, just MHO. Your car looks good, good luck on the sale.

Unfortunately, some dealers are getting smarter and will simply let you go. If it seems like you really want to get rid of your car for something else that bad, they'll know that you might be willing to go lower.

I know I wouldn't let anyone go unless it's just retarded. I would do the best I can until they realize it's unbeatable.

They don't care if it's NISMO that costed you $4,000 or some P.O.S. made out of aluminum foil that costed you $4.00. Nothing makes a difference. They give pricing on a STOCK car with no modifications. Some dealers won't penalize you but some will actually charge you for them to take your car with mods.
