Default Anyone else in the same boat?

No pun intended by the title, but did anyone else receive a first week of July build and has not gotten a VIN? I've been looking over the shipping schedules and it seems that it should have been ready to leave on one of the August boats before now. Pretty much, it seems that my last chance for the September delivery date is shot even if it hits the boat at the end of August which is the next scheduled departure. That would put the car at Jacksonville around the 28th of September. Looking like an October delivery from my perspective. Also, what does a car do in Japan for two months? Did they drop the thing or what? ZISME? Sorry, just concerned as I am really looking forward to this car!

Your VIN number is probably on the NNA computer. Your salesman/dealer most likely doesn't know how to access the report. My dealer has no clue about what information is available. I usually wait until almost everyone else on this site has their information. Then I get frustrated and call him up and tell him how to get the inpfrmation based on what I have learned from this board. He will then call me back within a day with some of the information. I have to keep pushing until he gives me all that I know is on the report.

I remember on the Corvette that they (Chevrolet) would occasionally grab a car off the line and do a thorough inspection of the car which would hold it up for about two weeks. This was done randomly and we referred to it as getting sucked into the blackhole. Don't know if Nissan does anything similar but certainly a possibility.

the dealer is very aware of how to check on the VINs. problem is not with the dealer, they have been great. blackhole theory is a possibility i suppose. i can just see my car showing up with 250 miles due to this extensive inspection! anybody else with any insight? or similar situation?

Default Ordered on 3/2 added

SPGD's on 3/29. Dealer tells me I can expect car on 9/2 or 9/6 but he has no VIN#. Have an order#. NNA says they have no VIN-dealer says none of his paperwork shows a VIN. Went to Nissandriven and checked my dealers inventory = BIG ZERO.

sorry to post same info in two different places, but at least some people's cars that were supposed to be built in early July have been delayed and still not built yet due to a "chip" problem. Hopefully, I may have it before the end of October. This comes from an email response by ZISME to me regarding the lack of shipment after it was "built" the first week of July.

Make sure you're talking to, at least, the sales manager. I was speaking to two sales people who both claimed "no VIN and no delivery date" for me. (Even after I explicitely asked them to check with the Inventory Manager or the Distribution Center in Jacksonville.) They claimed that they checked with their managers and still no info on delivery on my car...or a VIN.

After further investigation on my own, I spoke to the sale manager and he had the information there. I had contacted all of them (sale people (2) and sales manager (1)) the same day.

After speaking with the sales manager the same day, I received my VIN and "ship date" (it was later discovered the "ship date" is really the "delivery date".) The sales manager claimed that the sales people were not given access to this information.

Default It appears I am in the same boat...

as Crashandburn420. I ordered in January, still no order number or VIN. Dealer says he has no info. I was told it was to be a July build and a Sept delivery.
