That's an honorable death for your Z. I would have done the same whether the kid is a punk or not. Sorry 'bout your Z, but I greatly respect your decision.

Some of you guys are idiots... I can understand joking and all but to seriously think he should of hit the kid is wrong. You have no respect for life and probably don't even respect your own. Have you ever seen an accident in real life where someone got seriously injured or killed? It's messed up man, if you don't feel anything from that then your not human...

And to those saying he's speeding... we don't have enough info yet to determine that. It may have been a somewhat busier section with a speed limit of 35 MPH, in which case this much damage and loss of control could happen. There could of been other factors involved and things his instincts told him to avoid (obviously not the tree) that caused him to lose control.

All I can say is its good no one got hurt... did no one witness the event? or even hear it? I'd be back there trying to see if anyone living in the area knows anything. Contact the parents of the kid to inform them what happened and get their info to inform the insurance. There are situations where its completely harmless on your side at least and they should be held accountable for not watching their child... but on the other hand you could of indeed been going too fast. Regardless you haven't given enough info on the situation for that to be determined.

Hope your able to recover and get a new car of equal value... GL.

OH btw, sorry for your loss. You made the right decision. You would feel like sh*t rest of your life thinking that you killed someone. And also, there's the whole lawsuits/courts and whole 9 yards even though it's not fault. You have gave this kid a new life and if I was the father of the son, I'd go out and buy you a comparable Z. That's just how I roll.

Sorry about your loss man. So how is the insurance going to deal with it? Total loss? If so, time to part out!

Be happy you hit a tree and not the kid--you'd be sued your entire life for something that took a second out of your life.

My uncle got into a motorcycle accident with a girl on the back seat and was killed. The passenger survived with not too severe injuries but her family sued mine for almost 30 years. Crazy **** can happen when lives get involved. Keep in mind my uncle is DEAD, where is the god damn sympathy?

At least you would have dinner for a while (depending on the weight) and a new bumper.

Have you ever stopped to think that by adding warning labels, avoiding kids playing in the street, etc... that we're actually doing a disservice to humans?

*thinks these things encourage stupid people to breed and make more stupid people*

I see what your saying actually... but why should it be an (perhaps not) innocent kid who has yet to prove their stupidity to society in their adulthood? This is why I think we should have a 100 MPH minimum speed limit on the highways, thin out the population and its not biased... Seriously... think about that...

<<<< Sees someone calling out Hraes and ducks and covers.

And on another note, why the hell are you so damn debi downer on the situation. No one is hurt and he gets a new car so I believe its alright to joke around with.

And the 100 on the highway thing is an awful excuse for a "what if we did this" example. FAILZ
