Default What will the legacy of the 350 be?

With the first reveal of the 370Z getting closer and closer, what kind of legacy do you think the 350 will leave when it's all said and done? Will it be remembered as a classic, a disappointment, or just ok? I'm interested to see what you guys think.

for now i am really unsure what legacy it would be, but i bet as many years go by the 350z would probably be classic if i had to guess.

They will be more legasized than current N/A z32's.
Still how today - modernized TT z32's are considered a legacey are they not?

I think as far as Z33's w/ moderatley modded options and mint condition will hold the most

I don't think the current Z will ever be a classic the way the 240z became. However I think the current Z did mark a turnaround for Nissan as a car company.

It'll be called something like:
Nissan's Z car comeback car. Period.
Nothing more.

Underpowered... Yes i said it.

They shouldn't even be thinking of a 370Z. They should make a 400Z

I don't know why, but that post made me want to mock you. I won't, though.

A classic? most definetly not. As far as comparing it to the Z32 it will never match it's status either. The cars of the 90's such as the Z32, supra, RX-7, 3000Gt, etc will remain of legnedary status due to their supper car status during that time period. The 350z right now is nothing special. A great car, yes, but nothing that makes it really jump out. It'll be similar to the Z31 in that it was just another Z cont. the legacy but will have the status of the Z car come back.

As for some of the other comments: Of course you will see more 350z's in the next few years compared to the Z32. The Z32 is a decade older than the 350z and as such fewer are being maintained to be kept road worthy. Not to mention the 350z is so easily obtainable financially that every 16 year old kid will probably be driving one in 5 years. As for the comment about the 350z being faster than the Z32, lets remember that it's only the 07-08 that is faster. The 03-06 is roughly the same as the Z32. Lets also not forget that the Z32 has much more potential than the 350z. So lets not downplay the Z32 just because you like the 350z better.

hmmm in 5 years i dont kno whether or not i should sell my z. i dont wanna be mean but i dont want someone else to be driving a car that i designed with parts etc.. at the same time i dont want to be driving a car that a 16 year old drives ahaha. i think i will part it out, hopefully i can still get reasonable money for somethings..

as for comparing the 90s car, yes those cars were good at that time but i dont think the 300zx looks nice but it was a 90s car so it was the best they could do at that time. i think they shouldve made the 350 faster than the 300z form the start...

The 350Z will probably depreciate a lot and will become the next Honda Civic.

IMO the 350Z will be remembered as a great car in the rich history of the Z Car. However, it will be fall somewhere behind the first generation Z (70-78) and the Z32 (90-96). Those two are far and above the other generation Z's in design and appearance.

I think the whole line of Z cars all the way up to the 350Z and beyond will be remembered as classics...the 240Z and 280Z are already. The cars are beautiful for their time and dare I say ahead of their time at the debut when it comes to styling and performance short of a super car. I really cannot think of another car in 2003 that was released for under 50K that even came close to competing with Z's smooth curves and at the time, amazing power for money. I don't know, but god I hate the thought of the Z becoming the next Civic...I stared with jealousy when I was 16 at the Z and told myself I would have one...and finally, 5 years later with a stable job in the Army and a good income I got one...and I will be damned if I start seeing 6" tachometers and cut springs on a Z...I may loose it. lol

I'll remember it as "one of the cars I used to own"

no telling what I'll be driving by then. I've already had the Z longer than most of my cars. (1 yr).
