Default Opinions on a purchase...

Ok...I'm getting very close to buying my Z. Most probably in the next 3 weeks. Have been lurking here and puliing info for mods, etc. I was turned on to the Z as I love my 08 G35S. See attached:

As this will be my second car and my toy, I've decided to buy anywhere from an 06-08 slightly used..meaning 5k to 20k miles to save the depreciation hit.

QUESTION:

There are several local Z's that are salvage...all saying on front end damage, no frame work, etc. I've never even bought a used car before, much less a salvage. I'm only considering it due to the mods i plan on doing - eg targa roof like that off a 911 Targa S - all glass over the cockpit.

Would you guys consider this with only front end damage, or should i just find a litely used model with no accidents. There is about a 5-9k savings. I've had several accidents here in LA (none my fault TG) and the insurance companies around here total them pretty quickly for not that much damage.

I kinda think i'm gonna skip the salvage, but thought id ask the experts.

Thanks for your thoughts.

The last one is the one that caught my eye the most.

All i read was salvage Z...

DO NOT DO IT! It has no resell value and it won't be worth it, it's a headache more than anything.

dont buy a salvage Z, nothing is worst than buying a used car that is salvage

no matter how much they fixed the car to make it look brand new, in the end its a salvage car.

the only thing worse than buying a salvaged sports car is buying a salvaged sports car with an automatic transmission.

just buy my car... your better off with a car that hasn't been in any accidents and so what if it's an 03 at least if you crash it there is a good chance you wont die b/c the frame bent an extra 2 feet.
