I think the US M3 is somewhat under powered, the European M3 has 342bhp and is somewhat faster than a Z.

But i need a change as ive now had these for the past 6 yrs [5 in total] and other commitments means i need a cheaper car and the Z is ticking all the right boxes so far.

The O7 models though are about £10k more than the 05 models are they worth the extra ££ or could I easily mod an 05 one to be as good as an 07??

The M3 is faster than the Z in a straight line (10% power power but only 3% heavier), and generally will win on the track too unless you get the Nismo Z. Among other things the M3 has a much more advanced limited slip diff than the VLSD in the Z.
