RE040
I got rid of my RE040's after about 1000 miles. They suck when wet, just like mentioned. Dry traction wasn't all that great either, imo.
Am currently running Falken ZIEX-ZE912's. MUCH happier with these.

Summer-only tires suck when temperatures are below about 40-50 degrees.
RE040 are summer-only tires. I didn't think that they sucked when the temperatures were warmer, but they became quite treacherous as we got to autumn and the temps started falling.

Today - while driving moderately - the Z broke into a slide going around a corner. Mind you - I was not driving agressively at all. The MINIVAN in front of me did not have a problem....
I recovered quickly, but it was somewhat shocking. I have felt it get a little squirlly in the past, but never like this. Tires are always properly inflated (35psi when cold)
So - my basic question is - how bad are those stock tires??? And - what are some recomendations for replacements? I'm in Northern Texas - so snow is not a problem...
And yes - when I search for 'tires', I got 34 pages of results, so I posted this...
Thanks in Advance - John
