I ran GoodYear F1 tires on wider 5Zigen wheels and they were great, but didn't last long due to the soft compound. Running cheaper Nittos now, but they're not nearly as sticky.

+11111. I go through them like water, I have a tendancy to attract "$600 nails" the last year or so. But, hell, they LOOK awesome and the grip is like Arnold.

I'm going with the Falken 452's all around but can't decide if I want to keep the stock sizes or plus size them on oem 18's.

I got rid of my RE040's after about 1000 miles. They suck when wet, just like mentioned. Dry traction wasn't all that great either, imo.

Am currently running Falken ZIEX-ZE912's. MUCH happier with these.

Summer-only tires suck when temperatures are below about 40-50 degrees.

RE040 are summer-only tires. I didn't think that they sucked when the temperatures were warmer, but they became quite treacherous as we got to autumn and the temps started falling.

So - my basic question is - how bad are those stock tires??? And - what are some recomendations for replacements? I'm in Northern Texas - so snow is not a problem...

And yes - when I search for 'tires', I got 34 pages of results, so I posted this...

Thanks in Advance - John
i also experienced this. these tires were great at times when i pushed them on mountain roads to the point they gripped to a certain limit but i experience my car fishtailing at a intersection turn and given the fact that i was not driving hard nor was the roads wet. never driven with the tires in rain as i try to avoid it in general with the z.
