Default Has anyone recently got a letter from nissan...

...stating something about a part of the Z possibly needing to be replaced?

I have a 2007 touring coupe and the local dealer sent me a letter saying they'd like me to come in and have my Z inspected, and that they'd replace whatever part it is under warranty. (They don't mention what it is, unfortunately.) They also offer an oil change and wash for $10.95 as added incentive for bringing your car in.

So anyone know what it's all about?

Probably slave cylinder recall for the 07's, not sure what else it would be.

I actually thought about scanning and posting it, but I left it at home. I have an auto transmission. Do they not know that? I'm going to go in for the cheap oil change and wash anyways

Please keep us updated. I have a 2007 6spd. I'm very curious. I have not gotten any letters from Nissan.

Thanks.

It sounds like business is slow in the shop. They are offering you a deal on an oil change to get you in the door. If it was a recall the letter would come from NNA, not your local dealer. might as well get a $11 oil change and wash, if anything needs to be replaced it sounds like they will fix it under warranty, and probably look the car over and try to sell some services. Nothing to be worried about, just trying to drum up some business. My dealer is currently offering a $12 oil change to get people in the door.

I had a hunch it might be that, Cletus. I'll go in and ask them what's up. I'm 500 miles short of my next scheduled oil change so why not.

RRMikey, I will bump this thread, but it may be a week or two!

@ $11 it is costing them more for the oil/filter/labor.....they are hoping you buy an air filter, tire rotation, whatever. how many miles are on your car?

What do you mean crap oil? I'm pretty sure they use the recommended oil for the car. :P

This is not a letter from Nissan. This is a letter from your local dealer.
