Question Has Anyone Seen the Rumored Motorized NAV Door?

I'm wondering with the 04's that are supposed to be hitting the lots, has anyone seen this motorized NAV door in action? I say rumored just because I'm hearing of 04's on the lots but no discussion of the proposed changes. Any word out there?

I saw one in the new roadster, motorized might be an exageration, it felt "damped" or geared when raised, you still have to pull it down to close, no button or anything like that to open/close.

Did the Roadster you seen have the nav option? I know the non-nav roadster get the same door we 03s do.

It's not on any Z for sale today, the roadsters have the old style doors, and the '04 Coupe's haven't been delivered yet. Also, it's not rumored, it's a fact published by Nissan of America.

Seems like no one has seen it... The 04's are supposedly hitting the lots as my friend was offered an 04 model at Irvine Nissan. Yeah, I know it's not 'rumored', but I just say it because it has yet to materialize before us. Any speculation on whether this is a part that we can swap into the 03s?

I have to say that 04 peeps are very lucky to have this part because I recall a time when I was first showing the interior to my friends and they would push the NAV door button. Lo and behold it opens smooth as butter. "Sweet!" Then, what is the first thing they do to close it? They push the button again! Nothing, no movement. Real let down

Oh well, guess time will tell on this one.

Well Nissan could say it's motorized, but the also said that the 03 had a digital compass in the rearview mirror before it's release. I'm still very interested in seeing it cause if there is a motor, the center console would have to be re-engineered to support the motor (if you opened it and look, theres nothing there to support a motor or space either)
Also on some of the coupe's pictures, where the button to close the door? is it the same on to open it?

good point, no the roadster did not have the nav, so maybe the nav door is different
