Default Dealership Questions

i have a later model of the 2006 and i just wanted to double check for oil consumption so the dealer had me drive about 1,000 miles. When i took it back they measured it and said they needed to contact Nissan I called one week later and they said Nissan still hasnt responded. Now its been almost 1 month, maybe 3 weeks i guess? Can anyone tell me should i try another Nissan dealer, im not sure if they are really doing their job

You should definitely contact another dealer and get a second opinion and see what they say.

Maybe the dealership you took it to didn't even contact Nissan. Yeah, take it to another dealer.

^ or, since you have invested the time already, call the dealership's general manager and get the story from him.

Hmm suppose you discover this issue after the warranty is expired, is this something that reputable dealers would take care of? As far as i know ive never had this issue but then again ive never really looked at it and done measurements and all that stuff.

How often did you change the oil along the way? I would assume you would have noticed....how about discoloration of the exhaust, noisy lifters, etc, etc.

And - how many miles do you have on it now?

Well the vehicle has been dealer mainained to include the oil. Oill has been changed by the dealer everytime right around every 3-4k miles or 3-4 months depending on what occured first, so everything has been documented and kept by the dealer. I am not exaclty the most mechanically inclined person but as far as i can tell there is no abnormal knocking or noise coming from the engine. My exhaust tips get blackened over time, is this not normal, i mean how much blackening is acceptable if any? The car is an 06, was bought new back in Oct of 2005 and has roughly 24-25k miles on it.
