Also...what do people expect selling their car a year or less after buying it. They're asking for a raping. I plan on keeping my Z for at least 3 to 4 years. Yeah I'll lose money when I sell it. If you don't want to lose money when you sell a car, you should buy a limited edition exotic car. If you want to invest your money wisely, buy a house with it and you should get a nice return eventually. Cars are depreciating investments...if you can't afford to lose the money on trade, you should have bought a cheap used car. Part of being able to afford a nice car is being able to afford the financial loss associated with it.

Either he lied to you, the dealer didn't want his business, there was something wrong with his car, you misunderstood him, or...well, fill in the blank.
Like I said...I overheard their conversation and talked to the guy afterwords. Why would I bother posting it if it was BS? The car itself tho, was purchased at a different dealership...which could have been the cause of that but...its not BS. Thats what they offered and I asked him "they said 12k on the trade in?" he said yes...and told me there is only 1k miles on his Z. Believe what you want...I was just stating the situation I witnessed myself. Thanks...

Dealers make there money on used cars now a days, so it would make since that a dealer would try to "low ball" anyone on a trade in. But anyone willing to accept that kind of offer is a fool & deserves to be taken. The cars are worth within 1 to 2 thousand of what they sold for new. If you want to trade or sell your car to a dealer then like I said before...........

Umm...there is no way in hell they are worth 1 - 2 thousand off what they were new. The 04's will be in the dealers soon....A new 03 should be 2 thousand off sticker. I am in the market for a used Z and will pay high 30's (CDN) tops - they go for 44 CDN here....that's without tax of course. I'll let someone else pay for the tax and depreciation thanks. I don't think I'll have much of a problem finding one of these suckers out there. Look at it this way if you can afford a Z, chances are you've got some coin. Why buy used when new is only slightly more....in my case I'm not that loaded so I'll go used.

Valid points. I guess it really depends on how much over sticker you paid. When I say 1 to 2 k less I was basing that on sticker. I got mine for 1000 under sticker (33,900) and am fairly confident I could sell it for 30 to 31k. Since I'm never getting rid of it I guess it doesn't really matter though.........

I really want the original thread starter to explain in detail about how and why another Z owner gave him the bird because he was so angry that someone else owned a Z. That sounds very interesting.
