i think i have you all beat....i drove a 1970 oldsmobile cutlass. my bet is that some of you might not even know what it looks like. the thing only had 70K but was a very 30 years old. there is a huge difference now. i love my z. everything is just so much better and the car is great. i've driven an array of cars in the past couple years and none of them compare to the z. (well maybe the C5) but you get the point.

Had a 2001 Audi TT 180 Quattro Coupe. Its funny cause somedays I love the Z and have no regrets, but then there are somedays I question why I got rid of the TT. FYI, I got a 2003 PPW Touring 6MT with all options. Kinda hard going from a german car to a Japanese car. But before the Audi, I was driving a 93 RX-7, so I guess I just missed the speed cause the Audi was slow as hell. So for me, its simply a toss up.

2000 Eclipse GT. All options. Nice ride and a lot more comfortable than most sports cars/coupes. The wife drives it now. Trying to sell it 'cuz we need a SUV.

Before the Eclipse I had a Nissan NX... and before the NX I had a... drum roll, please... DATSUN 210.

I had a 240SX, and I absolutly loved it. I honestly liked it better than the 300ZX, and I could hang wiht one in the corners (until the road opened up and the turbos kicked in on the 300 :P ) , that was in college, and the 350 fits me a lot better now than my 240 did.

I had a blazer in between, and it was pretty decent off road, but a POS in terms of build quality. I did wish I was in it just for a moment today, while I was sitting in traffic next to this blond in a Mercedes in this really short skirt, and the damn Z was just too low!

We had a 1998 Prelude SH(in between Z's car for my wife) and a 97 Maxima SE traded the the Max in ( totalled the Lude used money as down payment) for the 350 and 03 Max. I miss the Lude for that wonderful sound in VTEC and its sharp handling(handled every bit as good as the 350 felt like a go kart), I miss the 97 Max SE for its smoothness(smoother than the 3.5's) and much better paint than either of my 03's. I love the torque of the 3.5's,handling of the 350, sporty comfort of the Max, love the acceleration in both, but hate the paint on both it sucks the bottom of the pile IMO.

I had a black 1993 Honda Del Sol SI. I babied it to death, it was garage kept, and only had 43,000 miles on it when I sold it right before I picked up my Z. Three weeks later, the new owner was in an accident with it. Ouch!

My other vechile is a black 1998 Dodge Durango. Hey, the dog needs something to ride in! It will also get me around this winter while the Z sits in the garage. Hubby has a 2003 Honda VTX 1800 Retro motorcycle.

Default 2000 BMW M Roadster

Lease was up so I turned it in. Fantastic car. Expensive to maintain. It was due for "Inspection 2" when I turned it in. A $750 operation. And it ate tires, of course.

It was a convertible, so there is no comparision there. It was definitely faster than my new 350Z. Fit, finish and materials were better, if a little plain looking. I never felt... safe in it. It felt small and it was. Dwarfed by all the SUVs on the road. The Z feels safer, plus with all the air-bags, it is.

I love the Z. Could be a little faster. I will eventually upgrade it with a supercharger.

Immediately prior to the 350Z I owned a 1994 Mazda Mx6 LS 5 speed. Obviously it pales in comparison to the 350Z aside from one category, namely the buttery smooth quality of its engine. I used to love to rev the 2.5 v6 to 4-5000 rpm just to enjoy its seamless power. I don't find the 350Z engine entices me to rev it in the same way. There is a hard to place harshness to the 3.5. Of course the torque available in the 350Z means I don't need to rev it much.

Before the Mx6 I owned a 1990 Z32 with upgraded suspension and brakes. It was obviously slower than the 350Z but I liked its interior and ride better than the 350Z. Its engine was also much more likeable in terms of its smooth delivery of power.

95 4 dr Integra Special Ediiton. Pimp little car with a good engine and a good tranny. All out Honda goodness but had no power, just alot of pep.

The 350 is a whole new car; my first rear wheel drive with power on tap under my right foot. I miss the Honda smoothness and quality materials but its a small price to pay for a true sports car.

I hate using my Z as a daily driver, I really need to find something like an early 90's Accord for commutes.

'93 Honda Prelude with T3/T04e turbo and about 10 grand in work in it.

Became impractical and too much of a hassle, but it was fast.

The Z is much nicer.

Went from a 2001 VW 1.8T Jetta to my Baby Z... The jetta wasn't so bad, had exhaust, intake, UPsolute ECU upgrade, sacs clutch with lightened flywheel, got baby jetta up to about 230HP, and was quick. But then after about 2 months of mods, the jetta began falling apart. Literally any kind of problem that was imagineable, happened to my car. Plus I was leasing it, and it was a 4-year lease for 48K miles. After two years, It had 52K miles..so you can imagine how screwed I would have been had I not known a very nice salesman at VW, and my parents helped trade it for a car for my sister. Then it was all on me getting my 350, and Im in love with it. LITERALLY!

1999 Cougar:

Cheap interior, lacking in power, but it had a ton more room inside than the Z does, especially if you put the back seats down. I loved the way it looked, I fell in love with the Z when I saw it the same way I did the first time I saw the cougar. Anyway it kinda sucked getting walked by SVT contours...why the hell didnt they SVT the cougar? Anyway I didn't have a bit of trouble with it in 4 years, but I don't regret getting the Z for a second.

Currently still using the 1996 Lexus SC400 and now fixing my old 1994 Civic EX so that my g/f can have it (both of which I used before the Z).

Comparisons to the Z... the Civic is no comparison, and I will never go back to 4 cylinder vehicles ever again (purchase-wise) after driving 6 and 8 cylinder automobiles. I am addicted and spoiled by power.

The SC400, well there is some power here, but it eats more gas than the Z most of the time... I drive the SC a lot because of the AT for commuting to and from work in traffic and I drive it pretty tamely. Now the Z, I drive a little harder but not to the point of abuse and it still manages somewhat better (to equal) gas mileage.

But with overall performance, the Z has it hands down. And it is the most fun to drive.

Not quite up to par with my previous car (below) but me likes it and it was time for a 2-seater since I also have an 03' Yukon.

And yes....Those are indeed the EXACT same MODA's that now grace my Z!

Never had a car before buying the Z in Japan. Over here I've only ridden bikes. So far I'd say the Z is more comfortable, easier on the dating scene, the music is better and it keeps you dry in any weather

But it loses out on ability to cut through traffic, and almost every performance aspect. You'll need about an additional 700+ rwhp to keep up with my bike. I also felt more confident going into corners and powering out of them on the bike than I do the Z.

I guess it's all a trade off. Next year I'll make sure I have room for the bike and the Z.

Expecting my 04' DB Tack in Oct... now I drive a 99' Honda Prelude SH, over $10,000 invested...love it sooooo much for the engine and handling, but gotta love the torque on the Z!
