Curious: what was your previous car and how does it compare to the Z?
Before my Super Black Touring Z w/Nav, I was driving a '94 Acura Integra 2dr coupe. It was a 'sporty' reliable car that never let me down. The back seat of that car was a joke anyways, so getting only a 2 seater in the Z is not much of a difference. But I do miss the decent sized hatchback space where I installed a nice 12" sub in a big bandpass box -- I had to give that up cuz no way the Z could fit that. But oh well, the Z definitely goes a bahjillion times faster than my old teggy.

2000 Toyota celica GTS. Weak car. You have to wind the **** out of it to get any power. The interior is cheap plastic. The stereo sucks, the paint sucks, the seatbelts suck. It's just weak all around. The windows leak, the transmission grinds, it has torque steer like no other car I have ever owned. I hate it.
I will never buy another toyota after getting burned on this car. To think that I gave up a turbocharged 250HP AWD eagle talon with $4000 alpine stereo system for it. Oh the shame of it.
The 350Z is 20 times the car that the celica has become.
The latest dog of a celica is apparently toyotas attempt to cash in on the celica name. sad sad sad. and the end of my relationship with toyota.

had a 93 300zx tt. overall id have to say the 300zx was better. better materials, better fit and finish, more technology, and faster in a straight line. however, the 350z handles better and has MUCH better brakes, and is more affordable.

2000 Maxima SE Auto
... which I still own. (It is now my daily driver)
I love my Max. It is the best sedan in its class (ie. Camrys, Accords, etc.) But comparing it to the Z is apples vs. oranges. The Max’s motor is just as sweet as the Z’s. Obviously it is not as quick or handle as well as my Z. But for what it is, the Max is an awesome sedan! My only regret is that I got an Auto instead of a 5 speed.

1997 BMW 840ci. That thing was in the shop more than I actually drove it, so I should say something like the BMW 325i. That car was the biggest PITA, and I can't wait to ship it off to Hong Kong this week, and finally sell it.

300ZX, before that......a 300ZX. Wait........... I still have them ALL They are all very destinctive. the 350 is a much stiffer ride, much quicker & sounds really cool. Also, the 350 is the first Z to have cup holders! Kinda nice but not a huge deal. I enjoy driving the 87 & the 03 over the 91 (it's an automatic). The 91 is a stiff ride but not as rigid as the 03. It handles really well though & of the 3 I'd say the luxury model for comfort & style. Love them all!

2001 Prelude. Very reliable, 100% Honda. Front wheel drive made it feel even less sporty than it was.
My 350Z is the best thing since sliced bread. It was the kind of car I wanted when I bought my Prelude but alas, in 2001 there was no such animal. I almost wanted to get a used RX-7 (back in 01) but my sensible side said "get the warranty and legendary Honda quality" and most Gen3 RX-7s for sale said they had new engines... a bad omen. I got what I wanted, a fairly unsporty car that felt like what it was, a Honda.
Talk about improvements in technology, my 350Z gets the same gas mileage on the freeway, but it has double the torque and 87 more HP than my Prelude did....Z has better interior, exterior, styling, acceleration, braking, handling, wow factor, etc, etc. No comparison really. Oh yeah, and insurance is $360/year less

Hell I was drivin a 98 Dodge Dakota. Talk about a world of difference. Before that it was a 91 Talon. Great little car. Missed it the minute I sold it. The Z is unlike anything else.

2000 Eclipse GT. It felt good when I got it, but after driving the Z, I notice the Eclipse has very unsupportive seats, shifting is squishy by-wire, and it plows through turns. But it still has more power than most cars.
That being said, anyone want to buy it? Hehe.
