Default Low gas mileage

Hi all,

I find my Z often stays in the very low 17mpg. Ok, it is mostly city driving but still I would expect a 20 mpg. I have tried a few things like injector cleaner, clean air filter... but it stays the same.

Any idea what could be wrong? Any idea on how to improve this?

Thanks for your help.
Mike

Search is your friend. In fact there's another topic about this just on this page.

that is a normal range. if you wanted to have better gas mileage maybe you shouldn't have bought a Z and got yourself a hybrid instead

you'll just have to accept it. winter gas probably isn't helping you any, driving habits are the #1 way to altar mpg.

That is completely normal. Just drive like a granny and shift early.

Your signature reads "Drive it like you stole it."

Im confused why you are concerned about gas mileage with that statement....

Just an observation

+1. I dont see how people are averaging 21MPG. I can if its highway but in stop and go traffice that will never happen for me. Hey I bought a Z and I have accepted that. Now that it only takes 40 bucks to fill up that MPG just might get lower. lol
