I was wondering how many of you guys/gals have taken a road trip, and was wondering how your mileage was. I recently took one here to Minnesota from Texas about 1100 miles one way. On the way I was getting 19.8/29 mpg on highway. When I would refill it would be some crazy distance like 487 dte. On the way back down it was even more, 20/30 mpg highway and almost 500 mile dte. With 1/8 a tank left it would say 101 dte. Is this common?
Anyway the trip was smooth sailing had my Valentine up and running picked up numerous cops up and down. Cruising about 85 both ways. Filled up about 3 times. Wound up with about 2 or 3 more little chips nothing serious though. Poor thing was filthy till Sat morning. I took her and had her detailed. Gonna put another coat of Zaino on this weekend if it's not too hot, damn Texas sucks in the summertime. Btw you can get in the trunk 1 golf bag, 1 large suitcase, 2 back packs full, 1 hairdryer, 2 pair of golf shoes and 6 boxes of small Xmas presents from a Grandmother who just never got around to mailing them over the the years. Also behind the seats 1 sunvisor, 1 purse and a small carrying case with a portable DVD player.
DB Performance
10in CompVR Sub
Focal Utopias fronts
Focal 165W something or another rears
Alpine 500w V12
Regular Deck till kit comes out
Awaiting the Greddy Exhaust and will put cold air in with that.

dunno but I took a road trip to Chicago (from Cincinnati) in June and averaged 27 mpg each way going 80-85.
I will be going down to TN in Oct. and am anxious to see how the numbers turn out.

i got great mileage from NJ to Detroit, MI 28.7 MPG
also to answer your question regaurding the 1/8 tank with 101 dte, i experience the same thing, the Z 1/8 tank is alot different than that of other cars out there... i have tested the tank and can assure you that if it's highway driving then you will get the full 101 before it's empty.... hope this helps
