considering the z.
hey guys i currently own a mazdaspeed3.. great car plenty of power unfortunately im very disapointed with the tunability of the stock ecu. so next spring im probably lookin into a z. so seeing as how there are so many different types, enthusiast, roadster, performance or whatever how do i tell which is which and is there actually any difference? thanks guys im excited to join the z community
You can go to the Nissan website and configure a new one and see the differences. This is sorta applicable to earlier years but there have been changes over the years such as the Track model no longer exists, some of the Track car features are now in the GT model.
I would not get a GT model though if you want to add wheels and brakes since it comes with Rays and Brembos !

If you dislike your ms3 because of lack of tunability, I don't see how getting a Z will change anything... The VQ35HR engine comes pretty much maxed out in terms of performance with bolt-ons causing loss of power in some cases. Read through the top 100 questions first.

The 350Z will be a fun upgrade for you. Just going to a RWD sports car will make all the difference in the world. The 350Z doesn't really need a whole bunch of performance upgrades (some are nice) as it's a really well sorted car right from the factory.
You will forget about the need for tuneability when you go from a FWD econobox to a real sports car. Might be easier to help you if you post what years you are interested in. There are some differences between years that make tuning and performance quite different.

you couldn't be anymore wrong. The HR actually takes N/A mods alot better than the DE. With just bolt-ons and a tune the HR can surpass the 300whp mark, so no, it's not maxxed out.
i came from an 05 spec v that was built pop charger on 15 lbs that made i think 312whp... why do u think i should stick with the speed3? think im dumb? im planning on getting one and having a local shop turbo and tune it =). and ms6 is a pretty fun car.. clutch sucks and there a bit chubby but owners are kinda like wrx owners think there the hottest **** around and cant loose
