You are the one that keeps blaming the conditions and not the driver controlling the car, but ok. I already said I felt bad for you.
If you admit to yourself that it was driver error, you'll be more cautious in the future; if you blame the damn road everytime then you may never learn.. but who am I to care..
People in LA really can't drive in the rain.. tailgating, hauling a$$ in the rain, accelerating quickly, braking late.. seen it all.. on rainy days every year (I commute from LA - SD once a week) the 15 freeway / 5 Freeway will have a good 5-10 cars wipe out on the side from rain easy..

glad you didnt get hurt. Ive had shi!!y wet weather tires and ive passed people and never lost traction. Maybe my definition of acceleration and yours are two different things. Unless you hydroplaned i just dont see it losing traction that easy unless its icy.
Damn, another one? I honestly don't know how you guys are accidently breaking traction so easily in rain. Well good to see you're ok OP, live and learn, and let us know if she's totaled or not.
Edit: Theres a reason why the car in front of you was going slow, common sense my friend.

+1. I really don't see how you could've lost control THAT badly...
the key in the situation you were in was to let go of the gas to reestablish traction. It is called hydroplaning what had happened to you.
Here in NJ as well NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO DRIVE in any weather. You would think a state with all 4 seasons every year people would get the hang of it already. Drives me nuts.
Specially if you drive the same roads your whole life, it's a skill you develop like being in home court.
GLAD YOU OK!

bad driving is how.... btw what version Z did you have? did it not come with traction control or did you have traction control turned off?
if you started drifting one way, turned the wheel and started drifting the other way and slid off the road then you over corrected and should probably get some more practice in rear wheel drive vehicle in slick road conditions, not bad mouthing just saying... it'd probably help... i've got the Z very far sideways in very slick conditions and it snaps pretty predictably back in line with the right throttle response and steering angle its just finding how much of each your vehicle wants from you

Just don't stab at the throttle. Feel out the vehicle. I got stuck in snow the other day, and I was messin around, doing like 15 miles an hour in 4th gear. The car didn't go slippin and sliding until I stabbed at the throttle. The only thing you DON'T want to do is stab at the throttle when conditions aren't ideal, because this car has decent torque. Give it a nice, rolling motion, and everything will be okay. I've driven in torrential rain, and the only time the car gets squirrely is when I make it get squirrely. Drive your car.
Also, ignore all the comments about what you should do when your car kicks out, because if you're at that point, you clearly don't know how to drive in the first place.
EDIT: Also, going over painted lines can be dangerous business. Roll over them, accelerate on pavement.

i almost crash once when i was making a left turn after the rain, i gas it up a little bit and the rear was sliding to the right. I quickly countersteer to the right and gain control back... lucky tho.. I was on the stock tires and they are almost bald lol....cheap POS!!!
upgrade your tires!!!!!!! Best investment to get!

Off the bat, none of your words make sense to me. Maybe if you wrote a little more mature than a 15 year old on AIM, people would take you a little more seriously.
Either way, I'm glad you're OK and I'm really sorry about your car.

I don't get people and there religious beliefs already. If your beliefs were that grand you would of never crashed your z. So Bless your soul son, and may the skills fairy grant you what you need for your next rain driving adventure.
Again glad your ok.
Again glad your ok.

i'm 19, i'v been driving for 2 years, my job during the summer is driving places meeting by dads costomers for 7 hours everyday monday thru friday, so if sum1 is going to say "hes 19, he was speeding or he doesnt know how to drive" then all i can say ur wrong, and may god bless u on the road, cuz i wouldnt want what happened to me 2day to any of u guys... what i did today i have done a hundered times, many times in the rain, but somethin about that road, i took pictures of the road cuz the fire fighters noticed the roads were really oily, more then usual. but... thats that. jst a little bruises and i know ima be real sore 2morrow.. jus gotta thank god he put that tree there to stop me from running into a house.
Woulda been better had He not made the roads so slippery, or not made you lose traction, but I digress.
Maybe you should have let Jesus take the wheel . . . ?
24yrs of driving here as well and no problem in the wet or icy conditions.
OP... The main thing is that you and more importantly no one else was injured.
Lesson learned I hope. And don't get down on all the ribbing.. For in 10 or 15 years you'll be harping on the younglings yourself.
