you feel like home depot can do what?

Buy me a chip from the dealer? Or magically program it?

I'm lost in what HD can do for me... the key is cut, I need a transponder chip programmed that will work.

Was this a joke?

I am thinking that was a joke.

I got my new key fob in last week, took less than a minute to program. Now just need to bite the bullet and go to dealer for the key and get it programed.

Going through the same key dilemna...bought fob on line, piece of cake to program. A local repair shop is suppose to be able to program the key but they have not gotten back to us, they are trying to get their system to do Nissan keys. The dealer here is an idiot so I avoid them.

I bought a 2006 350z with only one key and fob the stealership wanted to charge about $100 for the key then about $150 to program it and about $230 for a programmed transponder (FOB). So the search began.. I found one off of ebay and went to pop alock (local locksmith) and got it cut and "programmed". It did not work (it worked for about 2 hours and that was it)they said it had a bad chip so I bought one from them for $20 and they programmed it for another $10 because they already charged me $20 bucks in the first place. The key works great and has been working fine for about 2 months now. I did get my money back from the people on ebay. So all in all I spent $50 to get a programmed key. I also bought another transponder from ebay for $20 and it came with the instructions on how to program it. Took me all of 20 seconds.

1. Key $250 from stealership
2. Transponder $230 from stealership
3. Telling the stealership to go fk themselves and doing everything for $70 while spending the rest on mods
PRICELESS!!!!

The dealership has to cut and program the chip in new keys.

As for prices... here's my experience from an actual receipt.
Needed 1 new key and 1 new keyfob.
